Highly Recommend

Bob Cook October 28, 2018

The extra effort to dig down my footings and using a 4x4 allowing me to get the 13” jack was well worth it. I poured 20” square pads for each jack using extra strength concrete. I have snugged the jacks up but will tighten more once the concrete has cured (28 days). The project went well with the easiest part being the installation of the new beam and jacks. There is another beam on my cabin that previous owners propped up with cinder blocks and 2x4s. I will be using your jacks to support that beam as well. (next summer). THANKS again – great product that I highly recommend.

Ellis Lifting Shore

Samuel Watters November 28, 2018

We are beginning a home releveling project that will require as many as 36 additional piers and foundations. I reviewed several products before selecting the Ellis Lifting Shore. At this point we have installed 3 shores and we are very happy with them. They are Heavy Duty, powder coated, built tough but easy to use. I will give further updates as my project continues.

Excellent house jacks!

Milestown Construction Inc August 9, 2017

We shore and jack up existing structures in order to replace and repair foundations and expand crawlspaces into full basements. These well made jacks gave us a quality shoring solution without the need for typical foreign made pipe jacks most lumber yards sell that are really made for sagging joists and not heavy use. These are tough and simple and up to the task of not just straightening out the joists but lifting the structure as well. The plate options for the tops really help suit each application a person needs them for. A full 24" of stroke means less need for redundancy as is the case with the dinky 3" screw heads from the home cheapo option, this should be factored in when comparing cost. Those jacks are twice as much when you need two to swap back and forth and time is lost swapping jacks every time you run out of thread. The Ellis jacks really are cost effective when one looks at the obvious high quality and high functionality. The service was also excellent and we feel the jacks have a better resale value as well. Not to mention they are made in the USA which is always a factor in our company's purchasing decisions. Well done guys, we will be back for more of your stuff as we grow!

Great product

Denise Page April 14, 2017

My husband has been replacing the columns that are in the seller. We have been using the product from Ellis Manufacturing to get this job done. So far we have bought him two of the products, and will be getting another one very soon to continue building our floors for safety

The perfect solution and customer service to match

Thomas Link September 4, 2018

We purchased these to fill an unusual need and they could not have worked any better. The Ellis products are top rate and surpassed our expectations. Everyone we dealt with there, right up to the VP of Sales, was a customer service ninja. Thanks Ellis! You will definitely be our first choice in the future.

Straightening an old home

Winston April 15, 2021

I had paid two separate contractors to setup lally columns in my home that would straighten out the support beam in the basement. Neither one accomplished the task to my satisfaction so I decided to take it on myself - you can too! I made large footers 24”x24”by 12” inches deep. That is the most difficult part of this whole job - just making good solid footers but there are plenty of lessons on how to do that - I watched several on YouTube. Once you have the footers in place, these heavy duty lifting shores from Ellis Manufacturing are easy to use. The hardest part is just moving them into place. They are heavy but I was able to get them in place without any help. I bought the 24 inch steel rod to Jack up the beam. I would recommend against the 12 inch - I’m not sure that would give enough leverage. I’m currently in the process of slowly jacking up the beam - just a half turn every couple of weeks so I don’t destroy the plaster. The house took over 100 years to settle so slowly moving it back up seems prudent to me. So far it’s going even better and smoother than I anticipated. Thanks Ellis Manufacturing!

Perfect solution

Chris Houtchens March 21, 2021

I had a bathroom put in over the garage where there had been 2 bedrooms with lots of space vs weight. Now, with the new “Jack and Jill” and lots of added mass anticipated, the carpenter ran 2 - 20’ microlam beams across the garage, side by side, shoring up each end with several 2x4s in the walls to transfer the load to the foundation. We decided that a center support column was needed as well. He added several 2x6s nailed together as temporary support but we needed a permanent fix. One estimate for a custom-welded 4” square heavy tubular steel with top and bottom mounting plates, manufactured and installed, was for $1000. I decided to look for beams and such online that I could do myself. That’s when I came across the Ellis website. The shores looked perfect for my needs. I ordered a heavy duty shore, and it came less than a week later. I did the install this week, putting the new support post in place right next to the bulky column of joined 2x 6s. I screwed the shore into place until I felt the 2x6 column start to loosen as the microlam beam above slowly lifted. I pulled the temporary post out and the task was complete. Took about an hour by myself with careful leveling and placement and it now looks great. Performed just as I had hoped.

Quit shopping around and buy this one.

Nick Jones November 28, 2021

I purchased mine as the main support for a 14x16 treehouse. I’d shopped all over for a support at a lesser price tag. Eventually, you realize you’re suspending your kids in the air. I quit being so frugal and bought this model along with the adjustment rod (get that too). I’m not sure what your project is, but when you set this device in place, turn it to the satisfactory height and walk away…you’ll have peace of mind. You’re welcome.

Enjoy a level staircase

Chanel Rodriguez July 19, 2021

When moving into our 1926 home we realized that the stairs leading from the main floor to the second floor were tilting down to the right. We automatically assumed it was a foundation issue but after getting a structural engineer to assess the problem, we found out that it was due to a sagging support beam located under the stairs. He advised reinforcing the beam, creating 3 cement piers into the ground below the beam, placing three jacks on top of those piers, and slowly jack the beam up to level over a period of 6 months. That is what we did, and we did sustain many cracks to the old walls that had become accustomed to that position. After all was said and done, we patched up the cracks and we were able to enjoy a level staircase.

Thank you!!!!

DENISE GREEN May 5, 2019

We actually used these to level our camper. Our first camper took all day to lift it and level it. We bought a new camper and jacks we had it level when the jacks that came with it broke. Thankfully no one was hurt. We were researching and found Ellis jacks. My son is a construction worker I took one look and said that’s what we need. We had the new camper set and level in an hour. No wiggle no movement. We are happy happy. I don’t have to worry about these breaking. We have had a ton of rain and the are holding firm.
