We used these cords for my husband surround sound system in our home. Their functional and serve their purpose. We didn't have any issues and they were easy to hook up. This is simple. Just cords to hook in the right ports and you have great sound. We will also use for our sound bar. Great product no issues. Very simple. The cord is long enough to reach sound system so we are happy with it. I would recommend this product if you need an audio cord.
I got this Ematic Optical Audio Toslink Cable in 6 foot length to replace another that I had bought in a hurry. It was clear and coiled up and did not hide well with the other cables. The Ematic Optical Audio Toslink Cable plugged right into my LG TV and Vizo sound bar without any kind of adapters like in the past. And as I had hoped, I could now route my cable with the others for a neater installation. Turned on TV and sound bar and everything working within minutes! This cable has Toslink in the name, but this simply means that Toshiba has made it to standardized specifications and that it supports several different media formats and physical standards. And which means most if not all audio/visual equipment. Final note, if you have never installed an optical cable, the optical tips on each end have a rubbery like cover on them. Be sure to pull the covers off of both ends before inserting in the optical port.
I found the Ematic Optical Audio Toslink Cable to be extremely easy to hook up, it was very intuitive. The results were at the level I expected and I am very happy with the results. I would, and have, recommended this to my friends and family who are looking for this type of cable for their home entertainment systems. I feel it has earned 5 stars for ease of installation and meeting expected performance.
The Ematic Optical Audio Toslink Cable (6 ft.) is exactly what you imagine - it is a black, flexible PVC Cable. It has Toslink male connections that easily plug into input ports through rubber-tipped cable ends. The goal of the Ematic Optical Audio Toslink Cable is to improve sound. In my case, the cable was connected to the tv and sound bar. The cable then transmitted sound from the tv to the sound bar through its optical fiber system - the sound was crisp and enhanced my family's viewing of movies and television shows. In the photos of the product, you'll see the product as it is packaged and the product in use. The cable looks gray in the in-use photo. It actually is black. This item was selling for $4.99 and is now being offered at an even better price of $2.98. If you are in the market for an audio cable, this is a great value and will offer you exactly what your seeking - fantastic sound.
The Ematic 6ft Optical Audio Toslink Cable provides premium sound for my home theater system. The high quality optical fiber and polished connector provides super clean sound and the ultimate listening experience. The sound I am getting from my 5.1 surround sound since I connected the optical cable is awesome. I am amazed that other retailers sell these for so much more than Wal Mart. Experience high resolution digital audio from your DVD movies, TV shows, and music CDs. If your unit is capable of wireless streaming this lets you enhance your TV experience with crisp dynamic sound. The Optical Audio TOSLINK cable for home theater applications connects your television, DVD players, digital satellite, cable box and more to your home/audio theater system to give you the best sound for movies with Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound in uncompressed lossless PCM audio or compressed 5.1/7.1 surround sound such as Dolby Digital Plus or DTS-HD High Resolution Audio.
I use this cable to replace my original one came with the speaker system. The old one is a little bit short. Comparing two, the sound quality is almost the same. They do equally good on human sounds, very smooth, no loss noticed. The Ematic cable is better on high pitch, very good for orchestra, especially the violin part, the sound is beautiful. On the other hand, my old one is better on bass, like drum beat in pop music. But the difference is not significant. The connector is secure on both end, there is no wiggling at all. However, when comparing the two optical connections to HDMI for my blu-ray player, HDMI gave out a richer sound. There are more layers with HDMI connection. Again, it is not significant. This comparison is for my curiosity only. The optical cable is for my sound bar, which does not have a HDMI connector. The sound quality is much better than old RCA in my experience, much richer sound, more channel separation, less loss and less background noise. When lots of cable tangled together, digital signal has its advantage. I would like to see more color options for all kinds of cables, so I can separate them much easier. But for now, seems like almost all of them are black.
I needed an optical audio cable to hook up an old Sony receiver to my new Element TV. After hours of playing around with the receiver and trying to find a solution based on the pile of cables I have at home, I decided to just order this one. Took me 30 seconds to take it out of the box and hook it up!
The Ematic optical audio toslink cable measures 6' in length and is designed to provide superior sound definition when compared to analog connections. The toslink fiber optic cable is used to transmit a fiber optic digital audio signal between two components, providing an experience of high quality digital audio. The catch is that your electronics must provide this option. This can be used with your stereo system, a sound bar, digital-to-analog converters, DVD/stereo combos or a cable or satellite box. If it's surround sound for your movies that you are looking for, then this cable is for you! Right out of the box, it appears to be about medium quality since the cable isn't very thick. This cable is very thin and the length of time it will last is debatable. Then again, one always must pit the cost against the return for the value of the item. I suspect if you are not constantly removing and inserting the cable, the terminal ends will last for quite some time. The issue is that many folks like to switch out cables from one electronic item to another, and this can strip the terminal end. When connecting this audio cable, on each electronic device, look for where it is labeled "optical audio" on the back of each of the two devices you are connecting. I can appreciate a longer cable because you never know when you need the extra length, depending on where the two devices are that you are connecting! At any rate, the sound is much clearer than analog sound when connected to either my stereo system or from my cable box to my Samsung television, which is the goal of this cable.
works well. this cable is one of the best working cables I have found for connecting my Samsung TV audio out to a DAC. I have had other cables that did not get the signal to my DAC. of course, a little FYI: you do need a good DAC also, to work well with some of the Samsung TVs. I use this cable from the audio out. to a fairly decent DAC to RCA out audio to the input of an Onkyo 7.2 channel home theater receiver. with 120 w rms out per channel you need a very quite connection, and this cable provides that to my DAC. I also use some good quality RCA cables for the DAC to amp. audio in. with this set up, again I enjoy very good sound. this should be the case for most A/V home theater uses where a Toslink cable is used. this cable is good for my use. this cable looks like it is very durable with normal use. easy to set up with this cable in use. sorry I do not have any imaging equipment at this time for a photo, or video
After the 1st week of using this optical cord it stop working properly with my soundboard hooked to my TV. Started to make weird noises while watching things. At first I thought it was my soundboard but then I plugged in my auxiliary cord and it worked fine and till this day is still working great.
