Absolutely love my Ember mug! Keeps my coffee nice and hot! Will never have to reheat in the microwave again.
Hot Coffee, the whole cup, until you finish. I'm so happy I purchased this.
It's been 3 months since I bought it for my wife . She loves having her coffee stay hot. I'd say it was her best Christmas gift this season. I can't think of any negatives; I'm hoping it will last. She uses it everyday! She dislikes having her coffee get cold. In times past, she would have to keep pouring from the coffee pot and now she no longer needs to do that.
I have owned an ember mug for years and it finally quit charging. Thought I would try a cheaper version. This one is much lighter. Has the same charging capabilities. It keeps my coffee hot but the battery doesn't seem to last as long per charge as the ember. I have to turn it on by pushing the power button located on the bottom of the mug at each use which is a little annoying. It also tends to leave fingerprints on the mug and charger which I do not like. But for the price, I would say I'm satisfied. If the ember mug would go on sale, I would probably purchase before this one but it's definitely worth purchasing if you don't want to spend the money on the ember.
I purchased this mug as a gift for my friend. I also own the same mug. This mug has some quality issues that I don't think has been resolved. For example, the mug scratches extremely easily from general cleaning. The app is buggy and occasionally loses the set temperature. Finally, the biggest issue is the charging coaster. If the bottom of the mug is damp and placed on the charging coaster, the charging coaster will rust over time and the pins will not pop up to charge the mug. None of this is on the instructions and I've learned these tips over time.
The cup looks fine and works, but misses the mark in several ways. 1. Proprietary charging cord. The LAST thing I need is another cord cluttering up my space, and risk getting lost and making the whole thing useless. There is NO excuse for this not to be USBC. 2. App compatibility. This mug is for my wife, and she has an iPhone 6S. Yeah I know, it's old, but why do I have to buy a brand new $1400 phone to get my ridiculously overpriced mug to work? The app is VERY basic, does not use advanced AR or any features that don't exist on every phone for the past 15 years, so there is NO reason it should require a new phone to work. Controlling the mug is technically possible without a phone, but very cumbersome and limited. 3. Price. It's a $100 cup. Do I need to say more? She uses it, and likes it enough to not return it, so I feel like 3 stars is reasonable.
This is my second mug. The first one lasted several years. When it stopped working I tried to contact Ember. All you get is a form response "we are busier than usual". Two months later another form email "we hope your issue is resolved". I did mange to replace the defective pins in the base. Not easy to do. So, this works very well, but if something goes wrong you are on your on.
I just bought it followed directions precisely, and it won't charge after the initial charge that was on, it wore off it now will not do anything and I know it's getting power
I was so excited about, and happy with, this mug. However, in less than one year the coating inside the cup began coming off and it doesn't feel safe to drink from it now. Very disappointing considering the cost. And apparently the “ limited warranty” doesn't cover that.
I was supposed to receive the ember mug version 2 but instead receive the ember merge version 1 from 2017. The third-party vendor you use obviously was not accurate.
