hey this is a handy fun thing, ands its 5 bucks. great thing to have if you are one who doesn't like keeping change just piling up - you toss it in a jar! So why not drop it in here daily and let it count it for you? You would be surprise how fast those loos coins add up to usable dollars! It even counts the pennies. I did have an earlier version of this item that started counting pennies as dimes, but I just stopped with the pennies. lol. hey 5 bucks neat item, then take the coins to coinstar in the store.

Nice little coin jar. I like the fact that you don't have to guess about how much money you have saved. Jar counts the coins based on the size of the coin.

It gets the job done. The only reason why I didn't give this product five stars is due to the batteries not staying in and you have to really pay attention to the amount that's entered. Sometimes it'll read 10 cents and really it's only 1 cent.

At first it seemed more like a toy for him because he enjoyed watching the coins being calculated as he pushed them through the coin slot. (That did take a few minutes of practice to make sure he did not insert the coin too fast or too slow for an accurate count!) Over time he became more excited using the money jar as he could actually visualize how much money he had collected. We are now trying to help him patiently realize how the number of coins and the total amount of money calculated on the top of the jar relate to being able to purchase something he wants to buy! The outside of the box shows a recommendation of age 3+, but written descriptions of this product online indicated that it was best for 8+. The 8+ is definitely a more realistic age for getting the most from this Discovery coin-counting money jar.
