Emerson Sensi ST55U Smart Wi-FI Thermostat White

Recently, a friend had recommended I install a wifi thermostat in my home. I purchased this one through my energy providers online store. As I was in the market for a new one, this thermostat was a no-brainer for me. Couldn't be happier with my choice. As for installation, I am a DIY kinda guy and had no trouble at all with this install. Before receiving the tstat, I had installed the app on my phone and went through a mock setup. Once you're ready to put the tstat on the wall, the app will guide you through the entire installation. For me it was like.....15 minutes tops and it's on the wall, paired with wifi, and I'm running with the app. I wanted a base plate on the wall. They were out of stock on the plate for this model, so I took a chance and purchased the one for the touch model. It worked fine. I just had to lightly file two small beads on the plate to allow the tstat a flush mount against the plate. I like the look. It's optional, you don't have to have it. As for functionality, I love it!!! The wifi and the app make all the difference. I've had programmable tstats. To me, they are clumsy at best. With this setup, from ANYWHERE, I can see my current system status, add or alter current or upcoming system schedule, check daily usage, and all kinds of other good stuff. What I now have here is a boy toy, some would say, but if used properly will save you energy, wear and tear on your hvac equipment, MONEY, and provide you a greater level of comfort and confidence in your home. Last week, my wife and I joined friends out for dinner. Before leaving I noted the tstat was at 71 degrees, as it was set to be. We were going to be gone for several hours. Using the app, cause it's more fun then using the tstat, I set the heating temp to be 67 degrees. I asked our cat if he was ok with that and he was fine. For him, it was better than being outside, which was 20 something degrees. As it turns out, and I know this by monitoring the app, our indoor temperature never got below 69 degrees while we were gone, and our heating system did not have to kick on. Then, at the right time, before heading home, I took the schedule out of hold, calling then for the preset 71 degrees. I watched the app respond, the phone screen turns orangish when heating, and knew our home would be toasty warm when we got home. Which it was thank you very much. We were away from home for nearly 4 hours. I had eliminated 2 maybe 3 heating cycles. You do the math. Yes, you have choices. There are a lot of wifi thermostats on market today. I made a good choice. To say it again, Thank you Ameren, my energy provider, and Emerson Sensi, for a great product and app.

I recently purchased three Sensi thermostats. They came with complete installation directions and I installed them Myself. It was easy. I love the app where I can set the temperature for each floor of the house. I recommend Sensi to anyone.

My new Sensei was installed through our local utility service. As a senior, I was reluctant at first due to the connection to Wi-Fi and app, but after I learn to set up schedules and control the temperature through my eye through my cell phone it was a breeze. The Sensi thermometer also changed the performance of my furnace, making it more quick to react when you reset the temperature best thermostat I've had in 20 years. It looks more modern than the others also.

I purchase this and install it. I have a Air Conditioner with Heat pump because live in TN that don't behave basement. It seem when I had cool on heat would kick in. Call support and the person was very helpful. He ask me to send photo on way old thermostat was hookup and way I had New one hookup. He had me move to wires and help me reprogram unit and now works great. The wireless on it is great so can change it by my smartphone. Picture of New and Old hookup

My Sensi is wonderful. I like that I'm able to control with my phone. Since it's been installed my furnace is not constantly running.

Best purchase I ever made and was super easy to install.. installed in 20 minutes start to finish and if I could install… no c wire needed .. anyone can… paired with Alexa and works like a dream.. so happy I purchased!! Don't hesitate.. just buy… you won't regret it!

I'm an older widower, who got tired of having to manually control the thermostats in my larger home. Being on a fixed budget, it's important to not waste money on needlessly heating or cooling areas of my home that aren't being used. With 2 central HVAC units, it was a task I didn't care for and frequently forgot. Thanks to my easily installed, Sensi thermostats, I have complete control from the comfort of my recliner, and I no longer worry about wasting money.

I would not put this in my house at any cost! Very flimsy plastic housing, looks nothing like it's picture!
