Once you taste this Swiss Cheese you will never buy any other brand. Its so full of flavor, you can taste the nuttiness . This is what Swiss cheese is supposed to taste like, not some bland excuse of cheese masquerading as Swiss cheese. I have never had a moldy piece of this Swiss Cheese delivered to me by my Inhome Delivery. Try this Swiss Cheese and you will never want another kind of 🫕 Swiss 🧀 Cheese
I've had this cheese and the one from Wisconsin I think they call it Apple. this one has so much more flavor it is a bit more expensive but I think it's worth it
I prefer European cheeses. scroll if you must- this is one of my favorites (That Walmart offers!). Subtle and creamy, I use in my cheese fondue, slices over a circle shaped day old bread in a cup of hot onion soup,, on WW crackers, with parmesan for nachos %26 quesadillas sandwiches. A soft cheese, gruyere melts beautifully. A touch of salt in the creamy cheese ingredients makes for a perfect counterpoint! Sure-Swiss, baby Swiss, jarsberg, are less expensive.... and Cannot Hold a candle to gruyere.... ok, IMO! overpriced via Walmart for its size.
I love 3 kinds of cheeses: A.O.P. Switzerland, D.O.P. Italian, and A.O.C. French! (LOL, that's a huge list!). Emmi Le Gruyére cheese has been making theirs since 1115. They know tradition is healthiest when it comes to cheese making. This USA version is still aged 5 months (the longer the better), made from raw cow's milk, and uses authentic animal rennet instead of fungus or microbial bacteria for fermentation--eeew. People are sadly riddled by digestive issues, aches and pains, and overall dis-ease. There's an effective repair... change what you eat. Personally, we choose to spend extra on our AOP, AOC, and DOPs because they're the healthiest and best tasting. My favorite recipe for authentic Gruyére cheeses is Tuilles (cheese crisps). Bon appétit!
Gruyere, raw milk real cheese from the Old World. You think Amish when you think Old World cheese. Amish use the same New World farming practices that plague every other law quality American product. This cheese goes back longer than any history book you ever read a line from.
I love this Gruyere cheese. I've been buying it here every since I found out that Walmart carries it. I just wish they carried a larger block of it. I have to buy a lot of these small 6 oz blocks. Pair this cheese with some fresh grapes and snuggle up to a book, and you're good to go. You'll crave this snack more than ice cream or anything else.
Other than being a delicious cheese, it has a lot going for it! It's much healthier since it is made with raw milk and it also has a certification that it doesn't use the GMO rennet that most all cheeses use. In my opinion it this is the healthiest cheese I can find. It's is also very flavorful. It is similar to a Parmesan cheese in texture - dry. You can't use it in place of a cheese, expect it to have a strong flavor, but in all the right aged-cheese ways. Definitely a charcuterie must.
I absolutely love this cheese! I use Emmi Le Gruyère AOP in my egg bakes all the time — it melts perfectly and adds such a rich, savory flavor. The taste is smooth, slightly nutty, and just right for cooking or snacking. Definitely one I'd recommend to anyone who loves quality cheese!
Oh, this is the bestest tasting cheese ever!! Nice and soft, melts good, sprinkle it on your salad or slice thinly for a sandwich (tastes way better than Swiss cheese). This is so flavorful!!! This Emmi Le Gruyère AOP Cheese contains the ingredients of what cheese used to be, old school animal rennent and made the old school way. Not like all of this nasty microbial, enzymes and FPC, which are GMOs. What is FPC you ask? It's not good. Fermentation-Produced Chymosin is created by inserting the DNA gene responsible for producing chymosin from animal stomach cells into microorganisms (yeast, fungi, or bacteria). These microbes are then fermented and the resulting enzyme is purified. So, I have been searching and searching for old school cheese and found this. A friend of mine said try cheeses made in Europe, and she was right. This is why this cheese is as good as it is.
If you are looking for a mild, smooth, crowd-pleasing cheese for a casual snack board, keep moving. This Emmi Le Gruyère AOP is an incredibly traditional, cave-aged alpine cheese, and it is an absolute assault on the senses if you aren't prepared for it. This cheese is incredibly stiff, dense, and dry. It's hard to slice cleanly and lacks any of the creamy texture you might expect from other European cheeses. To put it bluntly, it tastes and smells a bit like a foot. It has an intensely funky, sharp, and earthy flavor that completely dominates your palate. It was just way too aggressive and unpleasant for me to enjoy on its own. The only saving grace for a cheese this pungent is that Gruyère is traditionally meant for melting. If you grate it down and mix it into a French onion soup or a heavy fondue, the heat cuts down that aggressive "foot" funk and turns it into something rich. At the end of the day, I really don't have many good things to say about eating this straight out of the wrapper. If you love hardcore, intensely funky, hard cheeses, you might appreciate the AOP authenticity. But for the average shopper, the stiffness and pungent odor make this a total pass.
