Ordered twice, will order again. No graIny aftertaste and economical to add to your diet. Now going to reorder since meals here suck and I'm losing weight!!! Ladies, simply stay here for a few weeks! 178 to 135.
I ordered this due to having a total knee replacement my doctor said I needed a high protein diet however I do not like to eat so I ordered the vanilla high protein shake and I got it here promptly even before I had expected it to be here
These protein shakes are much more compact than most, which makes them easier to drink. I also find that they don't mess with my digestion (like pretty much all other protein shakes do). The flavor is pleasant, though I would say it's not quite as good as some of the other ensure products. I think this one has a little more of an artificial taste to its sweetness, but nowhere near as much as most other protein shakes. I'll be honest that there are always chunks in these (must be something to do with the formula), so you should shake them really well. No amount of shaking will get rid of them all so keep that in mind if texture bothers you. I personally am not bothered by chunks so it's not an issue for me. Overall, this is a good product and it's one of the only 2 protein shakes I will drink.
I like chocolate Ensure Original, and Ensure Plus, but the High Protein Milk chocolate, 16g protein, tastes chalky. I will not buy it again. I do like that it has only 4 grams sugar. Also, I like the older bottle package of Ensure Original, it seems easier to drink from it. P.S. The Ensure Original, Dark Chocolate , tastes great; I hope you sell it by the case, and I will look for it at the club stores. Do wish you would lower the sugar grams in the Original and Plus products.
This is a huge disappointment. I found your 14 oz. Chocolate flavor perfect for me as my doctor had told me to find a product like this that had as much protein as possible. I've been buying it all the time. Now I can't find it and I see now why. I'm sure your market research probably figures this smaller, less tasty version would sell better. From the looks of the reviews here, I'd say they made a mistake. Even if the taste was the same, why would I use two of them when one did the job? Now I'll have to find another product to suit my needs.
Not sure who was the R&D team and executive who thought it was a good idea to take a perfectly good, tasty and effective product, namely Ensure Active High Protein 25g, mess around with the formula to the point where it's not recognizable and start production. I am so upset and disappointed I will never buy anything from Abbott again ... this was by far the worst, most ill thought out change in product formulation ever!
I bought a box of 12 Ensure Vanilla High Protein shakes yesterday. When I opened the first one, my lips were immediately barraged by slimy chunks. Thinking one may have just gone bad, I poured it out and opened another, only to find more chunks. Looked at the expiration on the box, says Dec 2022. I don't think this is normal and I'm hearing from friends who also drink this brand that they have been having similar experiences.
I have been drink ensure regularly (once a day). I was very happy with my purchase before, but last night I just bought some more since mine was running out, the same powder type 14oz vanilla has this lumpy texture that looks old but the expiration date is SEPT2017 AND it tastes very weird. I could not even finish my cup! Now I'm afraid to buy another ensure product...
I would give this product a zero rating if it was offered. I have been buying Ensure Original, Plus and Clear for the past four years, and all have been great. I tried the high protein style last week. I was unable to finish even one bottle. It tasted like the white liquid medicine my mom used to give us when we had "tummy trouble." It did not include the word "milk" in its name. It started with the letter "K." I don't really care for chocolate, but I tried adding some chocolate syrup to see if that made it more palatable. It did not. I threw away the open bottle, and will not be drinking the rest of the bottles. I am going to donate them to my local food bank, although I can't imagine anyone will enjoy them, except for the nutritional value. I wish I could just return them to the store, say I didn't like it, and get a replacement of one of the other brands. Maybe if there was a butter pecan flavor, that would be better. Pleas keep working on the formula as I need all the protein I can get! Thanks for asking for my feedback.
Every single one of my strawberry high protein ensure bottles are chunky. The first bottle had a few small pieces and I decided to pour the second out after I caught a bigger piece. These chunks did not dissolve in the sink or over time. Just dried out. What is this?! I'm not sure if I can ever drink ensure again. I'm disgusted. I wish I could upload pictures.
