I don't use Ensure Plus in the traditional manner being a meal replacement. I drink it with my meals to help me gain weight. The milk chocolate flavor is absolutely delicious. However, I would recommend drinking it very cold or putting it in a blender with ice to make a milk shake like drink.
After a diagnosis that caused weight loss, I had a nutritionist who gave me many different brands of protein shakes to try, not liking most of them, until she suggested ensure. That's where I found my strawberry flavor that would become my favorite to this day, 5 years later. I still buy my strawberry ensure today.
These are my favorite Ensure drinks, they are rich and creamy and the dark chocolate is super indulgent. Unfortunately, these are meant for someone struggling to eat who wants to gain or maintain their weight. This is not a good choice for anyone who is above their desired weight. I specifically need the nutrients and protein but I am looking to lose weight. I have sonce switched to the Ensure Max Protein, sadly there is no dark chocolate to be found. Hope this helps.
As a school teacher, I love these. They are expensive but worth the price. I drink them in the car or at my desk, and they help keep my blood sugar from dropping and prevent that distracting, hungry feeling. These are a morning staple for early, busy mornings.
If you need extra protein in your diet, buy skip some meals this drink is the best out there. It is thick and creamy but not too heavy. Best served cold to get the fullest flavor. My personal favorite is chocolate but the vanilla is supreme also. Perfect if you skipped a meal or as a nutritional snack. Try the chocolate it's phenomenal??
It's Ensure Plus! The Plus indicates more calories etc. The main thing needed to gain and maintain weight. They are very tasty. So, you will not taste something chalky, unflavored, etc. It can serve as a meal as it will make your stomach fil like a plate of food was eaten. You can also still eat regular and drink a bottle, if the goal is to gain weight.
I haven't drinking ensure plus for a good minute to help me gain and maintain my weight and it does work if you take it like you supposed to I took it with three meals a day afternoon snack in the evening snack and I’m still taking it today and drink about two a day now I like the taste it is not to chalky and It’s not to thick. The Butter Pecan is the bomb. I love it.
I’ve been buying this product for just about 6 years and I have never once complained about the price going up or having to purchase in bulk because the original taste was worth it ! But this new crap that ensure is trying to pull saying same taste.. ?? Incorrect it tastes like all the Vanilla ensures plus are now mixed with the Strawberry ones it’s not even pink anymore it’s beige. I don’t know if can continue buying this now because this, is it possible there are any of the old one lelt ? -keep in mind it’s 3:55 am and I’m writing a freaking review I’m furious !!!
I ordered this for my 94 yr old father, a Navy veteran. Both times I received the incorrect type of Ensure, the plain regular Ensure. He needs the Ensure Plus, which is more expensive, but has more protein and calories. When I tried to get a refund online, the automatic system would NOT allow me to. I could not nor did I want to return the item, as it arrived with several of the plastic containers busted open, thus there was curdled liquid all over the containers and box. Since the online auto system did not work for my needs, I called Customer Service. The agent there understood why I could not return after I explained the situation to him: both getting the wrong product and the product arriving damaged. He authorized the refund and even added a $10 discount coupon! Well, that didn't last long. That evening, an email came thru stating that my request violated Walmart's return/refund policy and therefore they were NOT issuing the refund. When I tried to respond to the email, do you think I could do so? No, because it was a non-reply email address. I don't usually do negative reviews, however I was quite offended at their lack of concern and care. Plus, when I got to the page I was referred to in the denial email, I was back at the original Walmart site that had initially not worked, so I was left with this as my only option to try to reach anyone!
Good as usual but shipped us one case of milk chocolate. My wife, a cancer surviver tried this but it made her ill. I tried also but had to dilute it 3 to 1 so we will have to give to the Catholic Charities unless you can send us the paperwork for the remaining 2 six packs, we had each tried a 6 pack before realizing neither of us could stand the strong chocolate flavor.
