I find it weird that this product has all one-star ratings. I was in a Dollar General store and since it was a cold, wet day, I decided to have a fire in the fireplace when I got home. All they had were some small Enviro Logs.....about half the size of a regular firelog. I bought the only two they had and was very impressed. They lit quickly and stayed lit, which is in direct contraction of every other post on here. I was so pleased, I went back a few days later to see if they had re-stocked and bought every Enviro log they had. I just went to Enviro Log's web site and ordered a case of the full size 5 lb logs. The mini ones burn about 1-1/2 hours, which is more than I expected. The mini logs were $3.50/each, which I thought was steep, but purchasing the full size logs from their web site is much cheaper (and shipping is no extra charge). I hope the full size logs are as great as the mini ones because I'm really pleased with them.
I don't understand the bad reviews for this product. I had previously purchased a case of these, 9, and they all worked great. Easy to light, stayed lit, lots of heat and flames. And unlike Duraflame warnings, you can add more then 1 log or other wood logs and mix and match. I recommend this product.
For me this product lit easily, just lit it on both ends and followed the instructions of unwrapping it a little. Burned for a long time and was easy to clean up. Great for a quick fire!
quickest way to get a roaring fire started in my wood stove, either combined with wood or alone. Creates a great fire that puts out a lot of heat and lasts a long time. Safe for wood stove use and benefits the environment. no petroleum odor.
Love, love, love these - once you get the hang of how to light them, the Enviro-Log is my favorite artificial log. It does not have a strong odor like all the others I have tried. It burns wonderfully and the heat warms the room. I order these by the case :)
The logs burn as stated on package. They do produce a lot of ash, but I feel safer being earth friendly.
My husband bought 4 boxes of these because of the price point and enviro-friendly. The first log we used started burning fine, but in no time, a chemical smell and black smoke started permeating the air. Yes, the flue was open. It was awful! We had to put out the flame. We have used Duraflame and Pine Mountain with no issues ever. . .the 3 unopened boxes are going back!! It is 38 degrees with a north wind and we have windows open and fans going to clear the air!
When you picture a "fire log", you think of a product that begins to burn once you light the outside of the wrapper. Sure, the wrapper burns, but then nothing. Took two cases out for a week long camping trip. To get these burning, we had to use more kindling volume than what is actually in the log. On the last night, I basically just didn't even want to try. If you have a fire already going, yes these will burn. Don't count on these as your sole source of fire though, will ruin a good time. Spend the extra bucks and get a reputable brand. Trust me!
These may be one of the worst fire logs I have purchased. The best part of the fire was lighting the paper around them! After that, it's all down hill. To be fair, if you are only interested in a flicker fire, you might enjoy these... might. I will stick to the good old D***flames. : )
This must be removed from all shelves and inspected by the stores and health agencies. In a single box of 6, we encountered a foul, feed lot, smell from the cardboard. Where are the boxes from? We were not the only people the smelled it. Friends next door came over thinking there was a busted sewer line. There is nothing safe about this. Shut the company down!
