These sponges are great ! I have been using them fir a few years. I give my horses baths with them Horses love the mild curry effect of them. I also scrub my water tubs with them. They last a long time Great product !
I love this! So easy to use
I was a bit skeptical about this thing, but I figured, worst case scenario it can be a dish scrubber right? But not only does this work EXACTLY as advertised to groom a dusty, sweaty horse, but it is now my gelding's favorite grooming tool. He's got very sensitive skin and only tolerates most brushes, but this thing? Even on his face and belly? He gets so relaxed he falls asleep as I brush.
I have been using the Epona Tiger's Tongue Horse Groomers for years! I originally bought one to help tackle some scratches my mare had on her legs. It is now my go-to sponge for bathing all the horses at my barn. I also find that despite it looking rough, it still feels soft and remains effective, whether you are using it in water, or dry as a curry comb. Even with using the sponge all summer long for bathing, there is still plenty of life in it.
I was so skeptical of this product at first, but so many people swore by it. I eventually caved to it due to curiosity about the product's hype. It was a cheap product so why not? I ordered this on the recommendation of a good friend. Being on the Customer Care Team, I see many horse owners ordering the groomer. Not only is it better than a brush to remove dirt and hair when grooming my horse, Lucky, but it's soft and can be easily used in very sensitive areas, and the face! Looking at the packaging, I could not believe how small and thin the groomer seemed in the packaging. Ut comes vacuum-packed and expands to full size in no time at all. I found it especially good for faces and legs. I dislike using a curry comb or a harder brush on his legs. It is so great for knees, hocks & fetlocks. Lucky really enjoys his grooming now! I brought my Blue Heeler, Bella, to the barn today and she even enjoyed a nice grooming with the Epona Tiger's Tongue Horse Groomer. I guess I will be ordering another one to keep at home for the dogs. It was pretty dirty by the time I was done grooming Lucky and Bella. I gave it a wash in warm soapy water and it came up like new. It also dries very quickly. It is money well spent & would buy again. When bathing Lucky, it's gentle, super flexible, while still proving effective in reaching a deep lather and thorough cleansing of the coat and skin. Left him shiny and squeaky clean. So happy I tried this product out as it's my new go-to for bathing! I only use the Epona Tiger's Tongue Horse Groomer, no more curry combs. It's like using a brush and towel all in one! I highly recommend it.
Just got this for our sensitive Thoroughbred. He hates curry combs, but will tolerate a gel curry, and he hates all brushes except for the soft ones. And he normally hates having his face brushed, so its always a struggle. Today I unwrapped our new Tiger's Tongue and wiped it down his side before a brushing. Oh my goodness. In love after the first swipe! This picked up everything in its path and left a shine behind. Picked up shedding fur as well. Oh, and I tried it on his face, and he lowered his head and closed his eyes... what?! He loved it! He even let me do between his ears (which hasn't been touched in months because he's too tall and raises his head up every time I try). His face is cleaner than its been in months. Does a great job on legs also. Love it, love it, love it. I may buy another just to have incase I lose this one :) (And maybe one for my short haired dog lol).
There was a COTH forum that recently mentioned this product. So of course,I had to try it. It does everything in the description! It's great for dried sweat marks and mud. Also removes stains. As the owner of a picky, sensitive, grey horse - I highly recommend this! Definitely worth $5!
I love this tool! While not a replacement for a curry (IMO) this does a great job. Love it for dried sweat marks especially when ring side. Gets rid of dust, hair, and dander. But this is the best for bathing! I put a large squirt of White n' Brite on it for each side of the horse and it holds it so well that by the time you start scrubbing the rump purple shampoo is still in it.
My grey gelding loves rolling so much that you'd think he was bay, but also is so sensitive he hates the curry. This works great dry to brush off dirt, and helps with scrubby baths to finally make him grey again. It's also helpful for sweat marks, and he doesn't mind if I use it on his face to get the bridle marks!
I was really excited to use this based on all the reviews but I don't really get the hype. I thought it did a nice job making the already clean part of my horse's coat a little bit softer and shinier but it did not work very well on his dry muddy legs OR his wet muddy legs. My horse has longer hair on his legs so maybe that's why, but a regular brush worked way better. It also didn't really do much to remove the imprint my saddle pad made on his back after riding. And finally, it takes up a ton of room in my grooming tote.
