Epson DS-410 Document Scanner, 600 dpi Optical Resolution, 50-Sheet Duplex Auto Document Feeder -EPSB11B249201

After having so many problems with BOTH of my NEAT scanners as I couldn't upgrade them to the latest Mac OS without paying a subscription fee (more than $100 a year!), I threw up my arms and decided to buy this Epson. Set up was a breeze and it's much easier to program and use. I liked it so much, I ordered a SECOND one for my office!

This Epson scanner was the second scanner I tried-the first one (different brand) was too hard to connect so I returned it. The DS-410 was super easy to set up and connect and I was scanning soon after. The software is intuitive and lets me organize my scans easily. It is compact, fast, does double sized scans as easily as single. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase

Easy to install and has been very dependable

I've used this scanner for over two years and have been completely satisfied with it. The only time something jammed was when there was a trace of book-binding glue on the edge of a book that I was scanning for braille transcription. Stiff or flimsy, all pages passed through when they had clean, even edges.

First one has over 100,000 scans and notifying me to replace rollers but still working. Will do so but with the volume of use decided to purchase again for additional support.

Overall this product does what it's supposed to do. The interface that you have to use to save documents, fix settings, etc. is confusing... but the hardware itself is pretty darn good and efficient.

The set up was relatively an easy process. It looks nice. But the scan button is very slow to respond. I have to press it several times to make it scan. It is not sensitive enough. The quality of the scan is good.

THESE SCANNERS HAD CERTIFICATES THAT WERE SEVERAL YEARS OUT OF DATE AND THE SITE HAD 'SOLD OUT' UNDER THE DESCRIPTION. SO AFTER GOING TO A LOT OF TROUBLE TO GET ONE OF THE 5 SCANNERS TO BE ACTIVED THE FRONT FLAP OR DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. SO THIS WHOLE ORDER WAS A NIGHTMARE. OUR COMPANY COULD NOT SEND OUT ATTACHMENTS TO OUR BOOKKEEPERS IN ANOTHER CITY. THE REASON WE ORDERED MORE THAN NEEDED - THE ORDERING PROGRAM WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND KEPT TELLING US WE HAD NOT COMPLETED THE ORDER, OVER AND OVER.

Spent many hours on phone with Tech Support and it still doesn't work. More tomorrow. I used to have great respect for Epson products, but this i quite a negative experience.
