I had the ET-5500 and it crapped out early but I really love the tank solution so I bought the ET-7700 and the prints are significantly better, excellent machine. The only drawback is no fax and for the rare insurance claim fax is still there only way of communication. Small footprint as well and extremely easy to set up and use.
Purchased this for wife to print her favorite photos. Works great as long as you use Epson paper. Other brands of paper produced photos with poorer quality. The five tank system definitely improves the picture compared to the four tank models. Printed lots of photos and the tank levels have hardly moved. The cost per print is very low compared to a cartridge style printer. Prints from smartphone and PC's on network with out any issues. Satisfied with this printer
Very happy with this printer , I was for ever buying ink cartriges with previous printers, this is just great save money on ink and get high quality photo prints, this is my first criteria in a printer, in addition this printer is a copier and scanner WOW great product
I purchased this printer for personal use,for printing mostly pictures.I have printed a number of pictures with great results and used very little ink. The printer was easy to setup. It prints relativity quick and in quite mode it is great and quite. I love this printer and have no problem Recommending this printer to anyone.
I replaced my Epson WF630 for this one to take advantage of the eco-tank feature. I love the other features this printer offers. It works seamless especially. Few issues with paper recognition in the printer but I'm coming to find out it's the programs I'm using to print.
got this in February waited until May to write a review - I have printed EVERY DAY full color sheets and have barely used 1/3 of 1 set of the inks that comes with the printer (2 full sets come with it)-when printing on presentation paper and photo paper at high quality they are better prints than you can get at Walgreens or any of the send off businesses- the copier seems costly buy the way it uses ink and the free ink that comes with it makes it a bargain - I Will never be able to go back to a regular printer that I've only paid 100 or $200 for and then to pay $40-$50 for ink refills it seems so ridiculous now I love this printer I can't repeat that enough- If you are into junk journals or printing for scrapbooks this is almost a must have, however if you just print black-and-white pictures of your school reports probably could go a cheaper route- (attached image was printed on regular Glossy photo paper)
I bought the ET-7700 EcoTank printer because it was the only refillable tank printer that could also print directly on printable DVDs. These were my two must-have features when I was looking for a new printer. But I also wanted automatic two-sided printing and scanner/copying capability, which the ET-7700 also has. Pluses: 1. Very easy first time setup (It even figured out my Wifi password automatically) 2. No more disposable ink cartridges 3. Tanks are easy to fill. I had no problems and no spills on my first attempt. 4. Great print quality Negatives: 1. Epson Scan 2 tool is not very good. If you want to scan multiple pages into a single document, you can only preview the first page. You should be able to preview and "marquee" all of the pages if you want to. 2. Apple AirPrint support is not good. For years it has been known that older apps will try to use tray 1 for paper when using AirPrint (just Google "airprint tray"). On the ET-7700, tray 1 is photo paper - which is more than likely NOT the paper you want to use. Not all apps provide a method to select an alternate paper tray and many key apps do not work with Epson's iPrint app. Yes, this is a failure of Apple's AirPrint, but why didn't Epson provide a configuration setting so that tray 2 would be the default when using AirPrint or (if AirPrint specific settings can't be made) give us a way to swap the tray identification numbers (1 = paper, 2 = photo) in all cases? It's just software, isn't it? 3. You have to be careful not to slide the photo paper tray (tray 2) into the printer too far. There is a small "click" as you slide the tray in and reach the correct position, but there is little resistance at that point and it is easy to accidentally slide the tray in too far.
Traded up in EcoTank Epson printer and glad I did though significantly more expensive. Do a lot of photo printing and the quality is comparable to other ink jet printers.
I was looking for a high quality ink jet printer but didn't want to use cartridges. I searched and compared for many weeks and couldn't determine if an ink tank printer would give me the quality I'm looking for, in fact I saw one review that said they were not high quality. I took a chance and purchased the 7700 anyway, along with a few different photo paper packs of varying quality. I'm pleasantly surprised and relieved by the quality of print (only after learning to load the paper upside down). I think the printer is worth the money and the only negative comment I have is the cheap tray mechanism for single feed paper.
I have never worked with a printer with less "common sense" features and slower for this kind of money? The printer tray is flimsy, barely holds 30 sheets (if that), and it the output tray is located so that you cannot close the paper tray without closing the output tray completely???? It prints so slow and it is so inadequate, I will be returning it immediately.
