Epson FastFoto FF-680W Wireless High-speed Photo Scanning System

I have been scanning many old family pictures for a few years now. Started with a Canon LiDE 220 flatbed and that worked well until I was faced with a mountain of pictures still to do. Scanning on a flatbed can be quite tedious and I tired of the labour. I did some research and decided on the Epson FF-680W, mostly because of all the promises and that it is wireless. Ordered it through Amazon and it was here in days. Because I wanted to preserve all these old family pictures, many precious, dating back to the early 1900's, I was prepared to pay for the best scanner the market had. This is the One folks. It has only been 6 weeks and I have knocked off scanning as many pictures in that time as I did with the flatbed in a couple of years. Mostly because of the long, tedious time with the flatbed when you lose interest and months go by. Now, this is not to say the FF-680W is perfect. I still use the flatbed for scanning some hard card photos, newspaper clippings and some quirky items that the roll through Epson cannot handle. But, the Epson has never damaged anything to date. In fact, it seems it can't, no matter how delicate the original is. All in all I have come away from this with a great appreciation for the Epson FF-680W scanner. I just received in the mail today a custom made dustcover my Mum made at my request. Thanks Mum and thanks Epson. Keep up the good work.

Absolutely amazing! Scan process is the the easiest part. If you have loose photos not in albums you can scan your entire life in a few hours at the medium quality that is unbelievable on screen compared to the naked eye looking at the photo. The software names the photo saves the original, an enhanced copy and if anything is identified on the back such as a date or a comment it will scan that too and name it similar to the photo name. It has been a very productive and satisfying walk down memory lane.

I'm loving how fast the scanner is. It was difficult to intall on my Mac Air 2025. But with Chatgpt and a lot of persistance we got it installed. I'm scanning ALL my recipes and photos, and basically digitizing everything possible to iliminate clutter. I'm using Google photos for storage along with Google Drive. The canner is able to scan right into my drive. It has other options as well.

I, like many of us, have a ton of photos from 1950s (parents time) till almost late 80s and needed a simple to use, high speed and smart photo scanner. Was tired of 1 picture at a time scanners that do not work with OSX and general purpose scanners that are dumb when it comes to high volume photo scanning. I finally have my problem resolved with the FF-680W. what I love is that it can handle paper scanning A4, B*, Legal and a ton of other sizes gracefully. Helps me get rid of a whole filing cabinet of files. Great job Epson. Love you guys for this product. This is now part of my dream home office set up. Sits pretty with the small foot print and is available on demand working on USB and wireless .... great product. glad I bought it....

My Epson SCANNER is PERFECT !!! I have already scanned over 1000 pictures..Can scan a pack of 30 pictures in 10 Seconds.. it's FAST..I had my Forever Cloud Teacher INSTALL the Scanner to my Laptop for me and TEACH me how to Load the Pictures ☺️This Scanner is what I NEEDED years ago ESPECIALLY for Loading Packs of Photos 3x5's !!!!! it's GREAT..My Teacher let me try her Epson SCANNER and I was SOLD..I just showed my Friend and she is Buying a Scanner also ..Great Product 🏆Linda Heinen 😊

I bought this scanner to help scan thousands of my mother-in-laws photos. So far it has been quick and efficient, with scanning groups of photos in seconds. It will also scan the front and back of the photo if there is writing on the backside. The computer app is easy to use and will make sub files for the photos which helps organize photos. I've like the feature that will enhance photos that are faded or need color correction. The quality of scan of the photos are also great! It's been a great investment and will save me a lot of time without cutting the quality of the photos.

Scans stacks of clean standard size photos very fast doublesided 1/sec using fastfoto app. Also scans and feeds letter sized documents with document scanner app. Works best through usb cable to computer. Mobile apps or trying to scan over wireless network not so good. Similar to what many medical offices use to scan ids and documents but supposed to have softer rollers designed for photos vs paper. Gamechanger for scanning. Unknown how well this works over time.

If I could leave less than one star I would. This scanner is literally the worst in existence. I have to scan photos one by one and often it “jams” and I have to check my computer to see which photos scan, and if you use Microsoft, it will absolutely not show up in order. I have had to sort through thousands of photos when this scanner … you know, doesn't scan. One by one. One by one. It brags it can take 30 photos at a time. Let me tell you. It. Does. Not.
