Very fast scanner and very compact so fits anywhere.

I am writing about my experience with the I found it incredibly useful for scanning items, especially receipts. I was able to quickly scan receipts and documents. While the document scanning was good, the handling of receipts impressed me the most. I was able to scan several piles of receipts of different materials and sizes. From gas station receipts to receipt carbon copies, within seconds the items were scanned and I was able to chose whether I wanted a pdf or a picture. But the most useful part is the software that extracts information from the receipts and inputs it into a variety of programs such as excel. The receipt manager easily found all useful information like location name, date, receipt number, tax, and a variety of other things. You have the ability to correct or adjust any of the items to help the software learn and the more you scan the smoother the process. I was able to backtrack through old receipts quickly and the only issue I had was if I put receipts of different sizes, sometimes there was a small jam. The entire device is small and compact and now that I've been using it, I would have a difficult time not having it. Review for WorkForce ES-500WR The first benefit I noticed when I opened the box was how compact the scanner was. The installation process was self-explanatory. I was able to connect the scanner wireless which is a plus. Didn't have any problems downloading the Epson scanSmart software. Love the fact that I could scan receipts, ID's, documents, invoices, pictures, even business cards. Search edit files and export to QuickBooks, Excel, Dropbox, google Drive, Tablets, smartphones and more. The scanner works in a fast-paced quiet mode. A big advantage of the paper feeder features is that you can scan stacks of documents in a single batch. Another advantage is two-sided scanning. The scanner Is also equipped with slow speed mode button, for delicate or wrinkle documents. Double-feed detection skip button to easily resume scanning documents. I will recommend the WorkForce ES-500WR to anybody who is looking to purchase it for their business or personal use. If you simply are looking to get more organized and clutter less this scanner is ideal for you. It serves its purpose, So, go ahead and give it a try it will exceed your expectations. I've been using this scanner for about a week, and its help eliminate all of our household documents including receipts, warranties, contracts, medical documents, kids documents, etc. Once I started scanning and realized how easy it was, I started scanning to PDF and then organizing into folders. The scanner comes with Epson accounting addition software, but I have yet to dig into that, although it looks pretty cool. I really like the Epson-ES 500 WR, it's fast, lightweight and convenient to use, plus you can use it wireless. Once the scanner is connected to your internet, it is just quick to perform and scan documents. You can connect the scanner to the laptop through the USB cable or just use it wireless. Also you can use and scan documents using your mobile device by just downloading the app. Edit scanned documents by downloading the Epson scan. When I tried to scan documents, I am really impressed how fast the scanner perform the task. And the two-sided scanning was easy to do. This is a great go to scanner for those who do a lot of high volume scanning at once or scan frequently on a daily basis. I LOVE this scanner! It is small, folds up to be even smaller and is perfect for our new business! I was really dreading the set up, as I always do with any of our new electronic items. I was shocked at how easy this set up was. Once you get into the website, the instructions are very simple and the computer does most of the work for you. One of the best features of this scanner is its speed. I own another scanner and it takes much longer from beginning to end. It was a very pleasant surprise to see how fast this completes a task! Another plus is that it copies 2 sides if needed. That's very helpful with the things we need scanned! I would definitely recommend this to anyone I know looking for a scanner. With all of our new business receipts, documents and other items needed to be scanned, I'm looking forward to getting everything organized! When I unboxed this scanner the first thing I noticed was how light and perfectly compact it was. It takes up next to no space on my desk. It was super easy to set up and connect to my laptop following the setup instructions. I right away liked that it's not loud and irritating. Scanning is very simple. I received the scanner on Saturday and I've spent the last 2 days scanning. I'm one of those freaky people that holds on to every receipt, copies of tax returns and anything related to bills. I had 3 flexible folders stuffed full of papers. I now have 3 EMPTY flexible folders. I love this scanner ! So easy to simply scan and save to my laptop. I now have spreadsheets set up in Excel so I can track my expenses and purchases. I am glad I bought this scanner. Works very well and makes scanning very fluid. The reason I only gave three stars was for the installation process. Very difficult to install the software. I don't know if it is because of the recent Windows upgrade or if this is standard. We actually purchased another and we are having issues with the install on that one as well. Different issue but trouble installing.

I bought this scanner last week. I have the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4740 all-in-one printer/copier/scanner, which works well as a printer, but the feeder for the scanner would jam often. Plus, it was painstakingly slow. But I did love the Document Capture Pro software that allowed me to edit my documents before I saved them. I liked that I could scan a whole stack of documents and then use the software to split and/or merge as needed. But, the scanning itself was just too slow. So I found this scanner and liked its features. It's fast and compact, which I love. However, the software--ScanSmart--is pretty limiting. The only option I seem to have is to stitch images together before saving them as PDFs OR scanning the whole stack of papers as one document. I mean, I could scan each document set separately, but then I'm just back to spending more time scanning, and that's pointless. But stitching means I end up with an original document that was 6 pages long now crammed onto one 8.5"x11" sheet of paper. That's great if I don't need to really read the information or share it with others who may need to print it. I tried looking for different software, but it seems the ScanSmart is the only software available for this model. That's really unfortunate, because it seems like I might have to take the scanner back just because of the crummy software. I never would have imagined buying a brand new scanner (and spending decent money on it) just to have to return it because I can't manage my documentation like I once was able to. Just disappointing.

I bought this scanner in November, 2019 to replace a Fujitsu model I had for 6 years. It would no longer would work with Apple's latest OS, Catalina. I selected this model based on the reviews and it was less expensive than a comparable Fujitsu. It is a much better scanner than the Fujitsu, which would jam frequently. However, the software is inferior to Fujitsu's. With the Fujitsu I could continuously scan multiple documents (not pages) and the software would open them as separate PDF files so they could be saved individually after I was finished scanning. The Epson software requires each scanned document(s) be saved or printed, etc. prior to starting a new scan. That means getting up, loading the documents, pressing the scan button and after the scanning is finished going to the computer to save, print, etc. before starting a new scan. That is a big pane and had I known that I would not have purchased an Epson scanner. I have searched Epson's website, but have been unable to find anything about this problem. Very disappointed.
