I thought it was a little expensive when first buying but, after seeing it perform I am thrilled. It's about 4 times faster than the scanners at FedEx Kinkos and I have much greater control over the file names and organization

When I first received the Epson ES-865 scanner, I was impressed that it has such a small footprint for such a workhorse of a machine. I unpacked the scanner and used the quick guide included to set it up. Super simple, straightforward and easy to understand. I was able to download and install the software from the website successfully and install it without incident. Did the test scan and was truly blown away at the result. I then decided to scan some double sided magazine pages I had been working on with my previous scanner to get some comparison. I was very impressed with how quickly it pulled the multiple, double sided, glossy pages through the auto feeder so fast and the scans showed up on my computer screen instantly. I then decided to mess with the settings and get some idea of just how high of a resolution I could scan on some old photos I want to digitize. My photo scans came out beautiful and I was able to play with them in photoshop because of the high resolution scan. My next job was to scan multiple pages at the same time since this is the primary reason I need this scanner. I put 56 double sided pages and the scanning was complete in less than 60 seconds! You can officially color me impressed. I want to start off saying that I love this scanner. It is one of the easiest scanners I have worked with. It comes with step by step instructions for installing the Epson ES-865 program. It is also very simple to put together. This scanner is compatible with windows 10. I was able to put about 8 pieces of paper, at once, to be scanned. It gives you options for one sided and double sided. It was a window on the scanner that also helps you set your your scanner or cancel pending scans. I am a stay at home mom with tons of school paper work and other important papers I tend to lose track of. I absolutely love this scanner and I recommend for any home or office! I am beyond pleased with using this Epson workforce color duplex document scanner. Unpacking and set up was very easy, the scanner itself is actually surprisingly light weight with small, non bulky cords. The given instructions made downloading the software very simple and installation was quick. Setting controls with the full color LCD screen makes scanning documents simple and worry free. I absolutely love how it scans both sides at the same time, saving time and giving beautiful results. The color from document to scan is just as vibrant and and full of pixels, leaving your saved files easy to manage, edit, save, and or send to others. I have been using this Epson scanner to scan my homeschool worksheets, art work, and documents for schooling at the end of each learning period (monthly). This makes keeping track of each years school work and progress, so much easier and less pile up of paperwork. This is a very versatile and very fast document scanner, perfect for the small business or home office. It is compact, well-constructed, and performs very well. Setup is very easy, unboxing only takes a few minutes. Simply attach the feed tray and remove the shipping tape that prevents pieces from moving and potentially being damaged in shipping. The scanner is packaged securely and there were clear instructions for unboxing and setup as soon as you open the box. Loading the software is also very easy, the download and installation completed without any issues on my Windows 10 laptop. Once installed, connect the scanner's USB cable and power it up, and you're ready to scan. The scanner itself is excellent. I was skeptical that it could perform as advertised in such a small device -- but I was pleasantly surprised. This scanner is amazingly FAST and produces very high-quality scans for documents with text, images, and mixed content in both color and black & white. I have passed nearly 1000 sheets through the scanner in a short week of ownership and it has not jammed or misfed a single time, nor have I had any issues with misaligned pages, which is not uncommon for auto-feed scanners. It scans single and double-sided (duplex) at blazing speeds and accuracy. The input tray holds between 50 and 100 sheets of standard paper, depending on the paper weight. Two software utilities are included, Scan 2 and ScanSmart. The Scan 2 is more of a basic scan utility that allows you to select a variety of settings on the scanner. The ScanSmart software is a bit more user-friendly and is great for larger scanning jobs and for saving scans to Word format with OCR. My initial reaction was that I was disappointed that the scanner did not support WiFi. At this price point, it seems like that should be a given. However, after doing some research and thinking about it, I believe that the reason that WiFi is not supported is simple: WiFi speeds are not fast enough to keep up with how fast this scanner can scan pages. USB 3.0 provides 5 Gbit/s bandwidth, and the vast majority of WiFi routers and laptops out there supporting 802.11ac are going to max out at less than 1 Gbit/s at best. If you look at the competing scanners that do include WiFi, their scan speeds are nowhere near as fast as this scanner. It was a necessary trade-off. It might have been nice to include WiFi with the caveat that scan speeds would be drastically reduced, so that for occasions when we don't need the ultimate speed we can have the convenience of WiFi, but I'm sure that would have resulted in a lot of people calling customer support and posting bad reviews if they didn't understand the limitations of using the scanner over WiFi. So for that, I totally understand why they chose to not include WiFi on this scanner. Overall I am very impressed with this scanner, it is perfect for my home office business uses. Epson ES-856 we have been using over a week now. Its small but super efficient, very quite, and the scans are excellent. Superb quality. We have been using it for school work, and its incredible. Over all its the best color scanner we have ever had. Highly recommended !!

I'm extremely impressed with this Epson DS-865 Scanner. I have used several different scanners at work and home and nothing compares to this mighty machine. When I first received it I was surprised at how light it was and was afraid it couldn't do the work I needed done. Boy was I wrong. It was super easy to set up. It comes with a quick guide that is easy to follow and I just downloaded the software from the website. I love that it doesn't take up much space and so easy to learn to use. The screen is a perfect size for me. I am amazed at how easy the scanning process is and how fast it scans. Nothing I have ever used even comes close to comparing. This sure makes life easier and it scans both sides and I scan to the cloud which keeps my documents safe. This is going to really make me much more productive and the quality is impeccable. The detail is perfect and this will be great for work documents, business cards, photos, ID Cards, etc. The resolution really shocked me. I never thought this little machine could work this great. It's also very sturdy and I can see it working for many, many years. I highly recommend it. While at first I thought it was a tad expensive I now believe it is worth every penny. This is great product I use it at work and for my small business and it works great it takes both sides of a document on a single pass saving me so much time also the dimensions are great I have a small office and this fits perfectly I have other epson equipment and it never fails the software has a lot of great options and for those integrating cloud in there jobs and businesses this scanner can make a difference overall speed☑️ Design☑️ Scalability☑️ Functionality☑️ I really like this product.

Upon receiving this product I didn't know the capability of it especially since it's so compact. Let me say I was astonished. My 8 year old son helped me take it out on the box and set it up to start using (so yes it's easy to unbox and set up and is lightweight). So my husband says I save way too many papers but in my defense- we may eventually need them for something right?! So I thought this would be perfect to declutter the paper and get everything stored and organized. It is to my amazement the speed of this scanner. It literally takes seconds and maybe not even that long. This also can scan the back of documents without having to take the paper out and feed again. Talk about a time saver. Another great feature - is the accuracy of the scan. Colors details everything. My little kids love helping load the scanner and find it funny how fast it goes. We've scanned documents, pictures, receipts, manuals etc and everything has worked superbly. There's been no glitches nothing. It's been extremely dependable and a life saver. Not to mention helped me declutter and not have to worry about keeping papers. I am so glad to have this in my life. The Epson WorkForce ES-865 is small but mighty for an at home scanner. You can easily set this up following the provided instructions in a matter of minutes. This scanner is compact but it gets the job done for sure. It scans at a quick pace and produces a very high quality picture in no time. I use my mainly for work since I am now working mainly remotely now due to the pandemic and it has been a godsend. I have attached to emails to co-workers and I have had no issues and best of all no complaints. The scanner defaults to 200 dpi image but you can adjust this to your liking as well. The software you install, Epson ScanSmart is easy to learn so you can become better acquainted with your scanner so you can use it for more things such as a document archiver to reduce your paper in your home. It also has the capabilities to scan on both sides as well. All in all I am very happy with the Epson WorkForce ES-865 Color Scanner in my home office. This is a great addition to my Epson printer.
