Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4630 Inkjet Multifunction Color Printer

This will be my last inkjet printer. I have had several in the past and every one of them had to be thrown away due to plugged printheads. I was seriously considering a laser color all in one, but decided to give this WF-4630 a chance based on new technology and some very positive reviews I found online. This printer is fast and the quality is very good. Scan works great. The paper tray is pretty big as well. Only draw back was install asks if you are connecting via USB or wireless. In my case I need both because wireless does not work while I'm connected to VPN. However, the printer was availible on my wireless network automatically. After print job there is a slight high pitch noise but it lasts about 3 seconds. Ink is expensive. Only time will tell if Epson's claims of lower consumption are true.

I was scared to buy an ink printer but I'm really surprise! The quality is really good and it's REALLY hard to see the difference between this printer and a laser printer! I LOVE my new printer! I will do a really good review of this printer on my website.

Setup was seamless and the printer works well from IPad IPhone and Apple Mac Lap tops. Scans well and prints very fast compared to other printers. Was a little difficult to find where to load photo print paper but it goes in the rear feeder and finally selected the right feed. Nice prints but haven't figured out how to get them borderless.

I've been pleased with the print speed and low ink consumption (compared to my last All in One) and for a small home-based business, this product offers great ROI. It actually prints standard business envelopes without any fuss (it was a major challenge to print envelopes on my previous machine) and although I don't print a lot of them, its a nice feature. One small complaint is the fact that it won't print clear address labels, such as the Avery easy peel; the ink is so smudged that the information is completely unreadable. The Avery support person suggested I use the specialty paper offered by Epson but they don't produce a version of the label paper for the 4630 so I'm back to hand-writing addresses.

This is/was a terrific printer, easy to hook up and setup on our Network, great results - worked faultlessly - economical on inks. All one can ask. After four months it started to have print issues - haphazard light dot patterns and red lines showing up on the page - nothing serious. Now at just over six months old, this morning it died completely with Error Codes Ox97 & Ox98. Contacted Technical support and they have agreed to exchange it no charge with a reconditioned unit. Hopefully the replacement will work as well and last somewhat longer.

Haven't had this printer for too long,that's why I only gave 4 stars. Easy wifi set up. Loading the cartridges were super easy. Great print quality and prints fast. The AirPrint feature works great. It is capable of faxing,but never set it up as I am not interested in faxing. Very happy so far with this printer.

If you purchase this machine, be happy that you did! But do not expect it to run well for more than 12 to 14 months. It will FAIL. I have had several of these machines, I have stuck with Epson brand ink in the last 3 machines to see if that would improve the length of working life. It does NOT. It will run streaks when copying or it will print streaks when printing. There is and will be issues with this machine.

Even with all new ink installed the colours are not good. All colours especially the reds and blues have "lines" in them....they are not "photo quality" as they should be. We hoped when we purchased this 2nd Epson it would have much better colour quality...but it didn't.

After having gone online to find a reliable all-in-one printer, I chose the WF-4630. Initially, the device worked fine. Less than one year in, the print head died on me... Epson was kind enough to provide me with a replacement machine. And now the mechanism that feeds the paper in the new machine is jammed permanently. Two lemons out of two? I believe that this machine is well designed, but assembled with poor components and I am paying the price for it right now.

The WF 4630 though it produces a good quality print is very frustrating piece of equipment. It is ridiculously difficult to connect to the internet and often prints duplicates because it fails to connect easily to instructions from the computer. I will definitely look closely at replacing it with a more user friendly printer. Also the connection to Epson connect to facilitate the connect various additional devices (as well as the main computer) to the wf 4630 is painful. I don't believe Epson has invested very much effort in making their system user friendly!
