Equate Minoxidil Topical Solution USP, 5 Percent, Extra Strength 2 oz

It is doing what it's supposed to do! For my then 10 year old who was experiencing alopecia areata at the nape of his neck. Dermatologist prescribed an ointment but it wasn't working fast enough. Kids were asking questions, idk if it was mean-spirited or just simply inquiring but I didn't want that for my kid. I sensed a tad bit of negative self-conscious behavior/moods. I use this MOSTLY 2 times a week, because of his age. Follicles didn't stand a chance with this formula. Also, before starting I did get the go ahead from the dermatologist. Just because I'm a Google doctor but I wanted to make sure I was researching accurately. And the next step would have been injections and there is too much anxiety behind needles with that one. Happy with this off brand purchase. Pictures are about 2 months worth of progression. Had I been more consistent, it may have been filled in completely. First picture is before ointment treatment, started Equate Minoxidil mid July.

I've been using this on my brows. 90's child here so I lived through the extremely thin brow trend. Unfortunately my brows have never recovered from that era. They were patchy and sparse. This has helped them grow in to their natural fullness. This does cause dryness but I just moisturize well and exfoliate couple times a week. Not sure how this works on the scalp but works great for brows.

Using this on my brows. I bought an empty mascara tube and filled it. Works great. I am growing brows in areas that stopped growing. It's only been a week but this is one of the best viral hacks I've ever learned.

I'm not sure why you would spend more on a different brand. this is the same quality and concentration as more expensive brands. Working great so far and easy to apply.

Cheaper than brand and same formula. Combine this with a dermal roller once a week (leave 12 hours between derma roller and using the hair treatment to prevent irritation)

I noticed a small difference in a week and will keep at it for the long term. The bottle was full so I went through it pretty fast.

I have not used the product long enough to see the results. That means I can not give a proper review.

BEWARE IF YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SCALP AND/OR SKIN!!!! After washing my hair I used 1 to 2 drops throughout my head in the areas where my hair is thinning. Within 1 hour my head was very itchy and I had to take Benadryl and put hydrocortisone on my scalp. The next day my scalp was still itchy and I had scabs where I had scratched. I went to my hairstylist within 3 days and she washed my hair and treated my scalp. It has now been almost 2 weeks and my scalp is severely dry and flaky which I have never experienced before. Around my hairline where I had small white bumps my skin is dry and literally peeling off. I am having to put oil on my scalp 2-3 times a day because it is still so dry and itchy. If it does not clear up soon I may have to see a dr. Please test this product on a small area before using on your entire head even if you have used it before. I used it years ago with no issues but this time it has really damaged my scalp tremendously.
