Equate Pure Cornstarch Baby Powder, Lavender, 22 oz

ive bought Equate cornstarch baby powder for years and as of like 8 months ago both scents have an off smell and texture. I thought it was just a bad batch so i got the lavender scent and same thing the smell is off in a bad way and its real gritty not smooth like baby powder or even cornstarch. I use lots of baby powder especially under my breasts because i sweat a lot, i refuse to pay the big price for name brand baby powder so i guess ill get it at Dollar General from now on. I cant be the only one complaining about the smell and texture and i cant helpbut wonder what ingredients in it is making it stink and gritty

The scent of this powder (lavender, only) reminds me of a cheap cologne. It was no where near the scent of the prior powder which contained both the lavender and chamomile fragrances which was mild and promoted a calming and meditated effect. As a consumer, I know what inspired me to purchase this product. I would to see the manufacturer bring back the original scent of this brand (Equate) with the lavender and chamomile fragrances prior to the upgrade. I'm so sad. They changed this baby powder and it's so bad now. I loved it before. I used it as dry shampoo in my hair. It smelled so nice and the texture was soft. Now, the smelled has changed. Not for the better. It's very strong and artificial now. And the powder isn't as soft. It's grainy now, and overall I feel it doesn't work as well.

I've used this for years, but as other reviewers describe, the product has changed and it's awful. The scent doesn't smell like lavender but some type of offensive spice, and the texture is different. It's going in the garbage after one use, and I'm going back to a name brand.

Why oh why did you change the scent?? I have used this powder for years and recently ordered more (once again unavailable in the store) and was very disappointed with the scent change. Same packaging, looked the same but is definitely different. It wasn't broken and you tried to fix it. Bad choice on your part. Now I need to find a new lavender powder.

The formulation of the product has changed for the worse. Cornstarch is grainy ans scratchy and the scent is perfume a, cheap perfume not lavender at all. I compared it with my original version and it's terrible. Order going back. I'll search elsewhere maybe target.

I am absolutely disgusted by the change they made to their original formula. This new smell is outrageously strong to the point it is overwhelming. I accidentally purchased thinking that it was the lavender and chamomile scent. Now I have 2 bottles of this awful powder that will be wasted in the garbage.

For a few years now, I've been buying this brand and the lavender scent because it smelled so good and when once I put it on my body it felt smooth. I bought 10 bottles on Dec, 2025 and these bottles were different. It smelled horrible and also it didnt feel smooth on my body. Im not sure if these were a bad batch or if these are the new ingredients they will be using from now on to make the baby powder. Just very disappointed being that this was my fav baby powder yet the smell and feeling were horrible now, it was not like before smh

Something has changed. I have bought this for years. I thought my last non-lavender scented powder smelled medicinal-thought they must have put medicated powder in a regular powder bottle and a one off. I ordered the 22 oz lavender powder-absolutely not. It feels like it's scouring your skin when applied-if I want exfoliation I will apply a suitable product-I don't expect it in my sensitive areas. I can't imagine what would happen if it were to actually be applied to an infant but I am certain CPS would become involved. It feels like flour mixed w sand. And don't get me started on the smell. My next thought after my powder being mislabeled was that it had been mishandled during shipping. I don't know what's going on but this product is an abomination. I am taking both bottles back, getting a refund and buying from Target in the future.

I wish that they had not changed it. It was a fantastic product for a reasonable price before. Now? It's nasty, gritty, sandy road grime with perfume so strong that a lady of the night would blush! It doesn't coat baby's bum, it slides right off into the diaper. When baby gets wet? Something about this powder will cause irritation. One and done with this new formula. I'm not sure what I will use next, but, after 20 years of baby care, it won't be this product ever again.
