New version is horrible

Alina January 23, 2026

I discovered these shortly after the oral b picks became unusable due to downgraded quality. I was so excited I found them and thought this would be my solution to the oral b disaster. Well just like the package compares these to oral b, it became true - they changed the product just like oral b did, and it's now unusable. The floss shreds in your mouth pretty much immediately. You need 6-8 of these to cover the entire mouth. I'll be returning these and moving on with my life.

Can't fix stupid

Anonymous December 31, 2025

This use to be just like Oral-B Glide. However, like everything else these days, they've become much lower quality. Instead of a slippery thin tape that fits between tight teeth, they are now cheap stringy things that shread quickly in a bunch of cheap fibers. Even the plastic holder has gotten duller and cheaper next to some of the older ones that I still have. Returning these! I would have been a customer for life and bought these over and over, but to save a few cents in manufacturing they lose me for life. Can't fix stupid.

Oral B short lived alternative

Lan February 1, 2026

Oral b glide picks changed the floss to stringy fibers that is the mother of shredding and stuck between teeth. Was happy to find these Equate picks but was short lived now these are bad like the Oral B's. Why!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Quality Control Issue or Change In Production

Anonymous January 31, 2026

There has been a change in the way these floss sticks are made. They now break easily and start to shred. These use to be good. Is this change a quality control problem or a permanent change.

What happened to the quality of these?

Sebastian February 14, 2026

What happened to the quality of these? I will be returning. Now they bend and shred badly. I have bought these for years, and now they changed them to something doesn’t work at all.

Serious quality issues

allan April 12, 2026

It is quite surprising that Walmart produces this item under its own label. The product has serious quality issues. The threads shred very easily, making the item unusable at some point. 1 star for quality. Additionally, I do not like the pointed end (my personal preference). It makes it difficult to hold without getting poked. The national brand "Plackers Micro Mint Dental Floss Picks, Fresh Mint, 300 Count: is a quality item, with strong flossing threads and easy to hold.

Recent Quality Change

Jay April 20, 2026

The high quality ‘soft’ tape has been recently changed. The new lower quality tape breaks easily and can leave debris between your teeth. It can take several picks to clean between your teeth versus one that uses high quality tape. I stopped purchasing Oral-B floss picks for the exact reason. The higher quality tape is white and wider. The lower quality tape appears to more narrow and has very slight gray tint. Refer to the attached images.

BAD QUALITY - DON'T BUY

R May 9, 2026

I switched to the Equate floss picks as an alternative since Oral-B switched to a flimsy floss that frays easily. These were great for awhile and slid easily between my tight teeth but they recently went the way of Oral-B and used the same low quality floss. These are just as terrible now and I have to use tweezers to remove the rest of the frayed floss. One night before bed I had to use OVER 30 of these picks to do my entire mouth because they kept snapping and fraying. I have to find another brand now and Oral-B isn't one of them. I might even have to use the string floss picks for my sensitive teeth/gums cause there's no way I'm using tweezers to remove remaining floss out of my teeth again - it's ridiculous. If it isn't broken, don't fix it! Equate and Oral-B need to get their crap together and go back to the original floss material cause it worked well for years.

Roberta May 18, 2026

I haven't had a problem until my most recent purchase. the entire bag had a problem with the floss. it was almost as if it was already starting to shred. even contacts that weren't tight felt like it was catching constantly. I could not get a smooth Glide between any of my teeth which was very disappointing considering I hadn't had a problem prior to this. I ordered them before I was about to run out so that I would always have them on hand so by the time I open the package it was too late to return them.
