seems like a decently designed pill cutter. it has a no slip pad for the pill to sit in, grips to hold it more securely, a blade cover to reduce the risk of cutting yourself. but it wont split my tiny little amlodipine pill (2.5 mg for a dog). the pill is too small and there is too much give in the no slip pad.
Pill splitter simply did not work! The design limits pressure on pills tp be split as top lever "gives" instead of being rigid. As a result, blade did not exert enough pressure to split two of the meds we tried them on, even though both pills had a starting groove indented to indicate split area. I have tried it twice more, with the same result. It just does not work.
It doesnt do a clean cut so when you push down it breaks the pill into 4 different pieces and you have to guess how much is half a pill when you piece all the broken pieces back together. Pretty disappointing since I got a more accurate cut just doing it myself.
it was worth the five bucks I paid for it. It was not worth the 699 shipping. I will never buy another one. The side plastic cracked from cutting apart a medium sized round pill. It was worth the five bucks I paid for it. It was not worth the 699 shipping!!!!! Junk
this is the second one I bought in 4 months the first one lasted three and a half months and then started crushing instead of cutting my tablets which I took as meaning the blade was dull. not bad for the price but this second one I just bought it arrived broken not able to use it how old are you put the pill in was broke off, a total waste of my money. I think I'll go with a different brand next time
Completely worthless! It couldn't cut even one pill. Blade doesn't come anywhere near to cutting surface (see picture). Even if the blade could touch the pill (not even close) the pill was not held in the center properly. Worst purchase that I can remember!
Not very good, bought to replace 2 year old pill cutter, because old pill cutter was losing it's edge, due to protective cover preventing me from cleaning blade. This one is the worst pill cutter I have ever bought. I lined up one of my regular pills, and instead of splitting pill in half, it fractured the pill into three large pieces and some crumbs. Action feels a little spongy.
Not great at cutting. If you put the pill to the back where it's supposed to go you have to push up on the bottom for the pill to actually be cut. Putting the pill in the middle of the plate is annoying and getting pills not cut even means I'm either getting more or less of my dose.
I used this pill cutter to split some tablets. 1 weighs 363 mg, so a half should be 181.5 mg Here's what the "halves" weighed: 164 218 137 152 203 218 148 153 The largest piece is 60% stronger than the smallest, and none of them were split evenly. The jeweler's scale used for these measurements was calibrated. Having your medicine 60% stronger from one day to the next is horrendous. This may be acceptable for vitamins, but for anything else, don't buy it
I purchased this pill splitter to cut small pills. In less than a year it broke. I wasn’t using a heavy hand or pushing with excessive force. The plastic mechanism in the back cracked, making it so hard to open and close. I can still use it but only if I barely open the device. I’ll be looking for another pill splitter now
