The Walmart vendor offered the best price for the Equator induction cooktop. They were very good about shipping the item right away. The shipping was fast and delivered to my front door. So far the cooktop has lived up to my expectations. A good value.
This induction cooktop boils water and cooks food in about a third of the time of a traditional electric range. I run it off our solar system, and it seems to use approximately 800 watts at level 3. I chose this particular device because of its size: I can fit my 10.5 inch cast iron pan on it comfortably, whereas other devices were way too small for that. I think maybe previous reviewers did not have induction capable cookware? if a magnet sticks to your pot or pan, then it can be used on an induction stove. The white residue on the cord is from the Styrofoam in the packaging, and comes off with normal household cleaner. That is NOT evidence of a defect! by
I love this unit! It heats quickly and cooks my food evenly.
I use this in my RV, and it is perfect for a small space.

We purchased the portable induction to cook outside at home and use in our RV when travelling. Since we were familiar with induction cooking and have the cookware this single zone portable cooktop has been a great addition and allows to cook "smelly" food outside at home and it also comes in very handy to use when we take trips in our motorhome.
It is a great product, love the induction. But it took up too much room on my counter as I have a small kitchen and not much storage.
I purchased this 11” burner specifically for my 10” pans, hoping that I would not have hot/cold zones. Unfortunately the heat is concentrated in the middle, actively heating no more than 5 or 6”. If you have small pans, it will work okay, but if you're buying hoping for an even cooking in 10” pans, this product is not for you.
