It was heading towards euthanasia for our 28 yr. old percheron. welts covered him vet put him on predisone, , cetrizine, and a product reccommended by a university in kentucky thru my vet. skin wa shedding, sores over his body and tail and mane rubbing. I tried horse spray, shampoo and lotion he is still not cured however the spray in controlling the knats and his tail is growing back , still itching but not as bad. Hope fully we are on the long road of mending. If it hadnt been for your product we would of been forced toward euthanasia due to the severe itching and vet was out of ideas as to what to try. thank you your helping us.
Used for itchy places on a horse Stopped the itching and I will keep using this!
Both the horse and I like the scent of this fly spray. There are other brands where she fusses about being sprayed down because of the ingredients/scent.
Great product! Been using for many bug seasons and it never disappoints!
I'm going to buy another bottle. The flies are present around my horse, but they they don't land on him. He stopped his stomping with this. I wish it would last longer, but it worked when the chemical ones wouldn't. There is no chemical smell which is great!
Just when I thought fly season was over (it's never over in the south) I headed down the trail and into a storm of mosquitoes. I immediately turned around I was not going to be miserable for another ride of swatting flies and getting eaten up. Thankfully I had ordered this fly spray for next fly season (yeah right) and I decided we would try it early. To my amazement it smelled so good. I checked the bottle to make sure it was in fact fly spray. It was. I headed back down the trail just waiting for the swarm, and it never came. Surely something that smelled that good wouldn't work right ? Maybe they were gone? Then I passed another rider who was almost being carried away complaining about how awful the bugs were, but not my mare, we didn't have a fly on her. So while all the others were heading to the ring to try to ride without being attacked by the bugs, we had a lovely ride in the woods...bugless!!! I am a believer now, I love this fly spray!
This is my go to herbal fly spray. My horse has sensitive skin and though he was never itchy from it he did get dry skin from the cedar oil she is sensitive to so I dilute mine which is I know off label but I put some witch hazel in there and he does fine with it. It is very effective and fairly priced. I like all Equiderma products.
No fly spray works all that great but this is better than most. Works for the same amount of time as every other fly spray, which is about 20 minutes. It has all natural ingredients, so it may be safer than the chemical-based products. And, it has a really nice smell - bonus!
I purchased a bottle of this fly spray from my local farm store and used it all up, it worked very well. It was separated and had to be shaken. I purchased a bottle from SmartPak and the bottle wasn't separated and very whitish. It causes severe irritation and swelling especially on his neck, jaw and chest. I thought he had a reaction to insects, then realized it was from the fly spray. I have not been able to use it on him since. I'm not sure if they changed the formulation, but I will not touch it again unfortunately.
I used this fly spray for the first time yesterday. I went to the barn today and both of my Quarter Horse geldings swelled a lot in their sheath areas and down the insides of their hind legs. They were extremely tender and sore. I ended up washing with Dawn dish soap and cold hosing. I'm really surprised that both of my horses had the same reaction. I won't be using it again!
