BUY THIS ONE....and mix it

Shelly November 30, 2024

I'm an avid houseplant hobbiest, with almost 100 different (mostly tropical) plants. This soil has all the ingredients I wish for....with a few notes. First: it smells strong of healthy fertilizer...as in: manure. Not horrible, but definitely present. The smell does fade, but for indoor plant rooms, you will notice it at first. After a few hours, the smell will fade, and eventually disappear over the next few days. Open your soil box and the smell will still be there. It's not nasty, but does signify you are getting proper soil. In my plant cabinet, the smell lingers a bit. I mix this soil with Groundswell (also thru WalMart), as Groundswell tends to be heavy on the perlite side, and this soil is heavier on the coir. Groundswell takes a bit to dry out, Espoma dries out much quicker. Young plants and new transplants LOVE Espoma in my experience. Dragons Blood incense and Pepermint oil spray (for cleaning plant leaves and protecting a bit against pests) counterbalances the soil scent. Think: greenhouse smell

High Quality Potting Mix

Great product but it's expensive so if, like me, you need to fill an entire raised bed planter it'll cost. I had to use filler on the bottom of the planter

Excellent product

MrGreenThumb September 5, 2014

I have an indoor herb garden with all the usuals. Basil, cilantro,oregano,Ect.. This product did exceptionally well over other more popular brands I will not name. You know who they are. I used the espoma plant tone with the blood and bone meal. The plants were out growing their pots before the season was half over. Never experienced that before.

Beyond amazing!

CaliCutie October 16, 2014

I have started growing buckwheat lettuce and microgreens in 11"x2" trays because of the ecoli outbreaks the last 2 summers, decided to buy this soil and it literally leaves me astounded. I had been soaking seeds 6-8 hours and sprouting 2 days before planting and still had to wait ages for it to grow. With this soil I did not soak, planted and saw shoots the very NEXT DAY! I wish I could give it another star it is phenomenal!

Great dirt!

abfitz October 26, 2014

I am using a pot of this to grow cat grass. The seeds are sprouting like crazy. No need to worry about my cats eating synthetic fertilizers.

Disappointed still trying to dry I out and I live in sunny Florida. When it says dry courts that's what I expect!!

We are overwhelmed by little flies after we used this soil inside our apartment. Absolutely disgusting and horrible. The flies get into our drinks and our food all the time. We always did indoor gardening before buying this soil and never had a problem before.
