Seems like good quality. Fits a 1 qt pan with full length of handle extended with about 1 inch of clearance to bottom of double boiler. Also fits a 2 qt pan but double boiler handle has less length exposed to hold and Sits about 3 to 4 inches above the bottom of the 2 qt pan.

Who Needs a Full-Blown Double Boiler?
This little pot fits right atop a small 1 1/2 or 2-quart pot. It's all you need to melt chocoate or butter. I dreaded having to spend the money for a whole big double boiler just to perform an occasional "melt-down." This little pot, quite well-made, as a matter of fact, will do nicely.

The pot was too small. I needed something larger for sauces. About all that would fit in this pot was a bit of chocolate to melt.
