the best
this is by far the best splitting maul I have ever used. it busts up even the most twisted, knotty chunks like it wasn't even there. don't hesitate, just get one. Estwing has never failed to provide what they say they will . their products don't disappoint!

Very nice splitting axe
I've only used it a couple times so far but overall it's worked very well. I like the lighter weight but still splits logs with ease and the fiberglass handle seems like it will hold up even when missing the log.

Works great for a light maul
I am 69 years old, still hand split a 1 to 2 full cords a year. Broke my last maul. I was skeptical about whether a 6 lb maul would pack enough punch, but I really liked the lighter feel to it. It works awesome! I split cottonwood, maple, ash and birch. Easy to use, I do not get as tired I have not oak right now but I am sure it would handle it. I have had Estwing tools before……they are high quality.
