This coffee is amazing!  As soon as I smelt the bag, I knew I was hooked.  It tastes just as good as it smells!  I am very happy I decided to try this coffee out.  Also, it's pretty cool the way you can trace your coffee from field to cup.  Easily by going online and tracing your bag of coffee!!

Fresh Espresso at Home I had the opportunity to try the ethical bean coffee and there are so many varieties it was hard to choose; I chose the whole bean sweet espresso as my first choice. Upon opening, the vacuum-sealed bag emanated the freshness and sweet aromas of what was soon to be a delicious cup of freshly homemade espresso. I gently ground the whole beans with my coffee bean grinder and made a cup of espresso that was strong upon first sip with little to moderate acid and full of deliciousness. This medium roast is vibrant and has notes of chocolate and nuts, and is deep and creamy. If you like your espresso strong these Guatemalan beans can stand on their own. What I loved and found interesting is that ethical bean provides much more than a cup of espresso or coffee, they go as far as providing a scanable QR code on each bag that will give you the details and origin of the fairtrade organic beans. I found the flavor of this coffee to be deep and rich In flavor with a nice sweet finish. I like it both cold and hot!! Love the smooth taste never bitter. This by far is my favorite ethical bean blends and I have tried quite a few. I originally thought this would be quite strong like the other blends, but it is perfect! It's smooth, sweet, and even gives me hints of cinnamon flavor; which I love to add to other coffee blends. I would definitely purchase again. I love the qr code and being able to use it to find out more details of where my coffee originated. Bold packaging, alludes to the eye opening experience you will have once tasting your first cup. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. I have to say that the Sweet Espresso Whole bean tasted very good. This was my first time trying an organic coffee and I am very pleased it with except the price could be a bit lower for the smallish bag. It had a light, rich and bold flavor to it. It also had a hint of a somewhat nutty, fruity taste to it. The machine I used has a refillable pod and once I ground the beans up, they turned out perfect to work in my machine. I add milk to my coffee so that's why it looks discolored. I use a big can to put my grounds in so I can just scoop them out and they are ready to be brewed.

I'm a sucker for a good cup of coffee. Drink a cup or two daily -- and always open to trying new beans. The Sweet Espresso flavor of Ethical Bean, while isn't one of my top options is surprisingly good. Smooth, not too acid. Flavor closer to medium light, than medium dark, but still well-pronounced. The ability to trace coffee's origins is pretty cool. The only negative I see is while there's a "Best Before" date, there isn't a way to tell when the batch was roasted. I feel this is something that is needed for a brand that positions itself as higher end. Note: I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

I recently picked up a bag of the Ethical Bean Fairtrade Organic Coffee, Sweet Espresso medium dark roast (I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion). This was the whole bean version of the product for use in my fully-automatic espresso machine. I really liked the zip-lock equipped foil bag the beans came in. It is very convenient and made dispensing the beans into my machine and sealing the remaining beans a cinch. They also make it easy to distinguish between the whole bean and pre-ground coffee which is important if you have a fully-automatic machine. Another cool feature of this product is the QR code that you can scan to authenticate the origin of the beans with details including the lot and batch numbers. It is pretty cool to be able to trace the origins of your food sources like this. It also gives you access to the tasting notes and coffee profile which can be fun to read. I didn't quite catch the sweetness on this cup of coffee as I had expected, but it was still a fine cup of coffee. I also tried a ristretto (or "short shot") and really liked the bright flavors that came through. I found this coffee to be slightly better than my regular "mainstream" brand French Roast bean. This is a good product to try for anyone interested in evaluating different beans in lieu of a mainstream French Roast. You may find you like it more. I recommend this coffee for someone who is inclined to purchase organic and Fairtrade beans and looking for a good alternative for their machine.

I love the way this coffee smells when I'm grinding it for my morning cup, great way to start the morning. Ethical Bean Fairtrade Organic Coffee, Sweet Espresso Medium Dark Roast is very smooth, not bitter, and tastes very much like...coffee. I wasn't brave enough to make it full throttle at 2 tbsp per 6 oz, more like 6 tbsp for 12 cups, but it was still a nice strong cup of coffee. I never did get a "sweet espresso" sense out of it (probably due to toning it down a bit), but enjoyed it regardless. I also enjoyed knowing it was fair trade and organic. It was fun to scan the qr code to see where my bag came from. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my opinion.

I bought this bag of coffee because I like what the company stands for. I wanted to love it. It smelled wonderful opening the bag and grinding the beans, but once I made it I was really disappointed. I always thought of Espresso as a stronger tasting coffee. I know this is labeled a medium dark roast, but it was more a very light roast coffee. I love strong coffee so this is not for me. I will say that when drinking it, it was very smooth with no bitterness at all. Next time it will be a very dark roast for me.
