Great movie to add to your anime collection.

Tristan1301 May 13, 2011

I've been watching the Evangelion series since i was younger, and I am not disappointed in this newest entry. Evangelion 2.22 is the second movie in a series of remakes of the original anime series. The graphics are amazing, with many of the Angels (not the angels you're thinking of, if you're new to these) now being done in CGI, and without fault; they look amazing, and dare I say, glorious. The story has changed a little bit, but it's still the same great series I know and love. The packaging to it looks great, and it comes with a large amount of extras, managing to fill up a second disc entirely. I would recommend this to anyone who was a fan, or to anyone who has any interest in the series, though I'd watch Evangelion 1.11 first. You might be a bit lost without it.

Amazing. Better than the original anime!

YouCanNotAdvance April 19, 2011

Completely unexpected! Very original! It's a beautiful and dramatic addition to the reboot of the series. However, be warned that this is not a childreds movie. There are adult situations, suggestive themes, nudity, gore, and general advance/mature concepts.

Meeting expectations

DMNHNTR91 April 19, 2011

When i first saw the trailer for this movie and parts of it on the internet, I just knew I had to see this. The movie preceding it was a great retelling of the first 6 episodes of the anime series, so this one had alot to live up to. When I finally got this dvd I immediatly started watching it. Of all of the anime movies i've seen, this is by far my favorite. They've changed the story starting with Asuka's arrival and going up to the Zeruel attack and, in my opinion, it is even better than the original. I'd say that If you've seen 1.0, 1.11, or the first 6 episodes of the series, this is worth every penny to see the second part of this epic 4 part. I loved the animation, voice acting, and the new story line. I recommend this to any anime fans out there. My only issue with this movie is that it is far from family friendly. Language, violence, and nudity are all found in this movie so I'd exercise caution with kids in the house. Other than that, it's a great movie.

Incredible Movie

blazingsticks May 3, 2011

I was very hesitant to watch the remakes of a classic, but the movie is incredible. Make sure you watch it in Japanese though, the English language track is dreadful.

a great movie.

wad2458 April 18, 2011

this is the second movie in the evangelion series of four. it is a remake of a 26 episode saga, and it is without a doubt slightly different than the series. but thats not always a bad thing as anyone who watches this will find out. it is worth every penny i paid for it, and i would have paid much more. in short this film is a visual masterpeice and should not be missed.

Even if your not a fan of the Evangelion series, you owe it to yourself to see these movies. Especially this one. They are truly one of a kind.

Excellent but no collectors Case?!

Artofsolace June 28, 2013

As you know this is one of the must own anime rebuild based on the popular original anime series. As expected the DVD was great in all aspect. The only problem i had was that it didn't come with the orange collectors case shown when i order it. I'm somewhat a collector and picky about what i buy and i've been looking for this dvd with the orange collectors case. So when i bought this product it showed the case but when i recieved it, it only had the dvd and box. So I am some what dissapointed and decieved by the product picture. But if you care just for the dvd then its a must buy!

They need to change the stock photo! I got excited thinking it came with the slip cover. The cover is completely different with pilot Mari on it.
