Ever After High Melody Piper Doll

I was chosen to receive this Ever After High Rebel Melody Piper Doll from Mattel for free in exchange for my honest review. I happened to get the Melody doll in the mail 2 days before my daughter's 6th birthday, so I got to surprise her with her new doll on her birthday and SHE LOVES IT! She is a huge fan of Ever After High and she takes Melody with her everywhere :) The Melody doll is definitely high quality and well made, all the way down to the "tattoo" detail on her leg, her stylish clothing and shoes, funky hair and pose able body (She comes with a stand and adorable accessories as well!) My daughter loves this doll. Her favorite part is that the arms and legs bend more easily, allowing the doll to be sat down in a chair in the doll house. The doll's hair can withstand multiple brushes, easy to change the doll's clothes, and the doll fits in most other clothes made for other lines of dolls. From the moment my daughter saw the box with the Melody Piper doll in it she couldn't wait to open it! She doesn't know too much about Ever After High except that there is another character with her name (Madeline) since she got that doll for Christmas last year. The first thing she recognized on Melody Piper's box was the Netflix logo (which we subscribe to) so she was excited to find the show and learn more about the characters. Once we opened the box she loved that Melody had headphones (something none of her other dolls have), a tattoo, and lots of accessories. We took the doll out of the box to take a closer look and put her on her stand. We both liked that this doll came with a stand so we can display her or make her stand while playing with her. My daughter could tell that Melody loved music which is something she also enjoys. She liked that this doll was different than most of her other dolls because she was not as "girly" as the other ones. The only thing she said she would change was make Melody's vest able to be button closed but it wasn't a big deal that it didn't. We both liked her two-toned hair and preferred that over one color since we thought it made her stand out. One thing that my daughter pointed out that she also liked about Melody Piper was that her hands were able to be snapped off and switched to the other arm. When asked why she liked that feature of the doll she said that she could then switch the bracelet that the doll came with onto her other wrist. She also mentioned another type of doll that had this feature and thought she could switch their parts with Melody Piper too. My daughter thoroughly loved this doll and couldn't wait to start playing with her. I'm sure that this will spark a new interest in the Ever After series! My 6 year old really likes the Ever After High dolls, especially the rebels. Melody Piper is the daughter of the Pied Piper, and she also happens to be a hip DJ with headphones and a record player purse! Plus, the doll comes with it's own stand, so she doesn't fall over. Melody Piper is a sweet musician! My daughter, 7, loves her. We are disappointed that her outfit (shirt, vest, & skirt) is one piece (It had looked like it was designed as multiple pieces), but she is enjoying the headphones, boots, and turntable purse. Melody also wears a removable belt, bracelet, and necklace. We've seen other shoppers add some silver paint, and we might do that, too. Her eyes (brown in the show) are more lavender in my doll. My 6 year old daughter loved getting this doll in the mail! She has bright colored clothing and cool hair! However, the first time my daughter went to play with it, one of the hands fell off. It was easy to put back on, but could have been a hazard to a younger child in the household since it was such a small piece. Otherwise, a great doll! My daughter loves anything to do with Monster High. She especially loves the dolls. The fashion on this one is great and the clothes seem to hold up well. The only down side to the doll is the knee joint. She had a previous doll that the leg broke at the joint. So far on this doll the joints seem to be holding up.
