Used one time during a bitter cold snap a week ago, car fired right up. Stored charger in clear plastic bag behind driver's seat, left my car unlocked for an hour at McDonald's, someone needed it more than me. Another arctic blast rolling in, no battery maintainer. Keep your car locked all of the time!
This is a great little charger. Wasn't sure what I was getting and if it would work because of the price. But I love it. It's compact and had my Escape up and running in 1/2 hour. And I didn't have to pull the battery out to charge it. I would Highly Recommend.
I ran the battery of my 2019 Suburu out after listening to music with the car off while working on a project in the garage for about 30 mins): dumb i know, but the battery was not fully dead...Lights still came on and car turned over but just clicked. Outdoor temperature was between 55-65 degrees Farenheit. I had Walmart deliver to my house in about 2 hours. Then charged for about 3.5 hours and the car started! Cons: There are some obvious drawbacks, of course this only works if you are home or somewhere with an outlet. Pros: price $23 and delivery $10. Much cheaper than calling for service. Also, the device is very small.
It works slow, took all day to charge up the battery on a vehicle that I don't drive everyday. This is more of a maintainer, than a charger. Good value, hopefully it will help the battery last longer by preventing battery drain when the vehicle is not in use.
It successfully did what it was expected to do. My wife SUV got discharged as it was parked in the garage during cold months for couple of weeks while she was traveling. It recharged the battery in couple of hours. I have connected it again to the power outlet as she is traveling again. Need not take off as it auto stops charging once battery is fully charged. Will remove the charger once it will be actively driven again.
OMG!! WOW! I didn't expect this to ACTUALLY WORK, but it does. My insurance company was going to charge me $160 for another jump(meanwhile I only used the roadside service %26 that's all in over 10 years smh) I took a chance and this item saved me over $100! On top of that my battery is fully charged %26 my car is now brand new quiet. Best investment I've made in a while.
It's good it just makes an unsettling high pitched sound. My alternator went out with my car stuck across town during a winter storm. The little jump pack I keep with me was nowhere near strong enough to get it started especially in the cold. In a last ditch effort to get it started before it was towed I ordered this and we brought the battery home to charge over night. It started right up! With a dead alternator and literal icicles hanging from the starter! We got the car home and now I have this for any future needs so I'm happy I got it
it's advertised as a battery maintainer. it is not. it's an automatic charger. once the battery is charged the charger kicks off. it should automatically start charging again when the battery loses power, but it doesn't. so it doesn't maintain the batteries charge.
This charger was supposed to be a tool I used for my business and I'm in the auto repair industry so I use a battery charger or jumper often but this charger being only 3amps is so slow I'm not sure it even charges at 3amps on the other hand it is easy to store because it's smaller because that's where it will stay until I have to nurse a weak battery back to health and I have a few days before I need it but do t expect a very quick result from this charger on automotive battery and no chance at all with heavy duty stuff
I would not recommend this I did not see the email for substitute item until after the time had passed, this was a substitute item. I think if you do not get an answer the item should not be substituted the original one was 1800 Amps this is 3 Amps this cannot charged my car. How dumb can a person be to substitute an item. I do not appreciated it at all.
