Everwilde Farms Buffalo Grass Seeds, 0.1 lbs - Thick Growing Grass

Hopefully this will repair dying grass in backyard.

Good germination rate, plugs look good for starting somewhat late in the season.

Pr icy but well worth the results.

I've been experimenting with this BG in the upper part of South Carolina for several years. The grass is beautiful and it tends to stay green all year. Doesn't need mowing, grows in clay soil and spreads. I only invest one ounce at a time. Spreading the seed on aerated soil give that a 3. Keeping the seed watered, my bad, give that a 3. I've tried growing my on plugs, give that a 3. I made pre planting packets from egg holders from paper egg crates, with 5 seed and 1/4 oz. of fertilizer held in by a tissue lid, give that a 3. I have some growing in a patch of Bermuda grass and it is winning the battle pushing the Bermuda aside. It comes up as a single sprout and starts spreading. This year I am going to try clear plastic mini-greenhouses held in place by U-shaped weed-fabrics spikes over the seeds to trap moisture and keep squirrels away. I usually pull crabgrasses including the roots and plant them under my water-oaks where nothing grows. Where the crab-grass was i introduce the BG.

I have not used this seed yet. I am fighting voles. Once that is done, I will sow this buffalo grass seed with a dedicated sprinkler and water holding crystals added to the soil to ensure that the seeds sprout and grow. I want buffalo grass to restore the natural look to the area and also to avoid tall seed heads, which are preferred by birds for nesting.

Not as expected

While the product titled "0.1 lbs", it only weighs about 0.1 oz. The other Blue Grama Grass Seeds packet I purchased from this seller claims to contain 1000 seeds also contains about only 100 seeds.

After purchase my husband followed seeding instructions EXACTLY and nothing! This was very expensive and a waste of money. Not one blade has sprouted. Do not waste your money on this. Does not warrant even a one star.
