This will kill your hard drives

Brian February 17, 2021

EVGA pins out their SATA cables differently from every other brand. This means their cables are not interchangeable with any others. If you're like me you have a lot of cables around, and even if you get things right the first time, the cables that come with it will eventually float around and into other devices and fry your SSDs or HDDs. If you get it wrong the first time, you'll at least be in the return window to send it back, but you still will have to worry about driver recovery. Terrible isn't a strong enough word, but if I use the ones I want, my review won't be posted for others to see. It took a lot of time and effort to figure out the issue. I lost a 3 month project and a ton of personal stuff from the drives it killed. EVGA used to be a brand I thought highly of. I'm never giving them my money again after this. EVGA's "world class" support won't even talk to you unless you've registered the product with them, and their warranty is laughable.
