I've assembled about every piece of home exercise equipment under the sun (and they are never fun to put together) but this one had the most well thought out user-friendly parts packaging and assembly manual - the parts (bolts, screws, nuts, etc.) for each part of the assembly process were shrink-wrapped & clearly labeled by step number, making for an efficient use of my time. Once assembled, the elliptical works great & is very sturdy - this is a wonderful bargain.
For the price, this is a very good piece of exercise equipment. It is built very well, except for the plastic foot pads, I don't think they will hold up under the test of time or people over #225. It does have a weight limit of #250 so consider that in your purchase. Purchase the warranty. Being an elliptical low impact but it did stress my knees and quads, I feel it the design of the steep forward angle of the motion of the peddles/foot pads through there movement. (Maybe someone younger and more in shape wouldn't notice) Caution on assembly, I would not assemble as stated in the instruction book, when assembling the handrails, footbars and rotation rod, do not tighten anything until you have all the bolts and pieces assembled by hand. I do like the little monitor/computer. Turns it self on and off but keeps track until u reset it. It is nice and small and fits in many places other equipment would not. Overall it will give u a good workout. Durability maybe the only question.
I was surprised how sturdy this machine is. It's heavy - about 60+ lbs. I put it together by myself and it took a few hours, instructions could use a few more pictures for those of us who are mechanically challenged. It is almost more like a smooth, longer stepper - it doesn't have the longer stride of a gym elliptical but it definitely can get you feeling the burn in a short amount of time based on the tension. For the price, I am definitely happy with my purchase. And I paid less than $3 shipping for it to arrive in 3 days rather than wait on free shipping taking over a week. Well worth it.
Someone I know has this and I asked them for their review and they told me it was very good for an apt/ space saver. So I got it on Monday 2/1/16 and waited for someone to put it together for me to save me the aggravation. Since they didn't come by Fri 2/12/16, I decided to do it with my 14yr. old daughter. The instructions were fair and you will need common sense. If I did it, you can do it. Not too many parts and everything you need is in the box. I read the complaints about the foot pedal too steep, wobbling and stride. I am 5'2 and if you are taller, it would be perfect for you since the handles are tall. The timer device is not accurate but all you have to do is find the calories burned online and time yourself and this way you will get an approx estimation on calories burned. It was on rollback for $88. I would recommend this. It was a steal. This does the job. I am satisfied.
Hi! My husband put together in an hour and a half. The girl in the promotional photo should be petite because I'm 5"5 and need to do a adjustment the elliptical arms with part of my resistance bands otherwise I feel like falling forward . With this adjustment I feel straight . I used it without resistance so the band is not a issued to me. I run for 60 minutes 6 days a week since I bought it . Minimum noises . Try to use with running shoes so your feet don't slip forward. Overall is perfect for the price. Check the picture ▼
I got this air elliptical and I love it. It works great. The first few times I used it I didn't have to use it very long because I could really feel it in my thighs and legs. It's not electrical so you don't have to plug it in, that's a plus there. It is big but it's not heavy to move around. I move mine around from room to room, if I'm in the living room to watch TV or I put it in another room and listen to music. Ive put it in the kitchen and have my back door open to be able to look outside, let some sunshine in. I absolutely love it and I would recommend this to anyone who likes to work out to get some exercise. It goes good with the other exercises that I do. It changes my routine out so I'm not doing the same exercise day after day and not getting any results by doing the same thing over and over. I have seen results from using this I could feel it and as long as I'm eating right and exercising I can keep myself and the healthy weight that I want to be at. This works!
Please try to understand that I am 6'1" and 230lbs. I have broken three exercise bikes. Two of them the arms broke and the other one the resistance band broke. All three bikes were more expensive than this machine. It took about 5 days for it to arrive. I live in Georgia and it came from California. I have only had this machine for 2 weeks and have used it 7 times. So far it seems great. Very sturdy. It took me a couple of times to get used to it. My feet kept moving forward. It gives me a great workout and I haven't moved the resistance nob much. I exercise for 60 min at a time. The only reason I gave it an average rating for durability is because I haven't had it long enough to know how durable it is. So far you can't beat it for the price!
As a new single mom, I don't have the time to get to the gym, nor the money to pay for a gym membership/more expensive machine. I tried my luck with this one and purchased it. When I saw the low price and mixed reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. It seems decent enough so far. No parts arrived missing/broken/damaged as mentioned by some other reviewers. I do plan to use it regularly to get back into shape and lose my baby weight. It's not a heavy duty one like you would find in a gym, but it doesn't seem flimsy either. Be aware that the instructions specifically state to tighten bolts ETC occasionally with regular use of the machine. In addition to this, I recommend lubricating the parts with oil/silicone (can be found at an auto supply store) at least once a month to keep it in good working order. It took about 1 1/2 hrs to put together... My only complaint so far is that my feet slide forward as others mentioned, and I have to readjust my footing while working out.... I will follow up with this review to let everyone know how it's held up a month from now.
The assembly was about 2 hrs. As soon as my daughter (68 lbs) hopped on to try it, it was noisy already from the beginning. the only setting when it's not so loud is when the tension is at it's lowest.... but as soon as you start turning the knob to tighten the tension, then the noise gets worse. the CHAIN is the worst part... it makes a rattling noise. like a chug..chug..chug in fast forward mode. if you live in an apartment, don't bother buying this, your neighbors will yell at you. there's a popping noise also coming from inside the casing. I'm an engineer and I put this together and made sure that all bolts were tightened... The noise is just unbearable. Go for a magnetic elliptical if you want a quiet one. or the Gazelle... if noise is an issue. You've been warned. I dismantled the pieces and put it back into the box. I made sure i remembered how to put the pieces back into the box as it can be a puzzle. Then i returned it to walmart... The return was the more difficult part.
You get what you pay for. I have been searching for an elliptical machine and read the reviews on this product before purchasing. I have used these machines at the gym which are on the high end side. This machine feels awkward to me the first time I tried it, strides are short, not flowing and not smooth. I'm very disappointed.
