This is a life changer for me! In the past, whenever I've wanted to plant bulbs (which is most autumns), I have had to beg my husband to come out with his drill. He drills holes in the dirt, and I drop a bulb in each. It's always difficult to find a time when he is available and willing to help, but I do it because in our clay soil it's too hard for me to dig holes with my little trowel. When I first got this, I didn't know how it worked. I looked up "bulb planter how to use" and found a 45-second video. It's easy! I went out and used it successfully. Wow, does it work well. You just push it into the soil where you want to plant the bulb (it went into even our clay soil easily). There are measurements on the side making it easy to know how far down to go. When you have done that, pull it out. The planter will hold onto the soil and leave a perfect hole for you to drop the bulb into. Then, squeeze the top together, and the soil plug will drop, filling in the hole again. So easy. I wish I hadn't waited so many years to discover this tool. I'll use it over and over.

Haven't actually got to use if for what I purchased it for. But I did test it out to see if it dug into the ground easily. And I was impressed with how easily it made the hole. I do not have a lot of strength in my wrist so I was quite satisfied with the result.

Use a hand cultivator to smooth over the planting, then move on to the next place you want to plant a bulb. I got this bulb planter, and I thought it might be a little over rated, so I set it aside and thought nothing more of it. My wife insisted I give it a try, so I thought, “What could it hurt?” Let me tell you something, I should have tried this thing out the day I got it. What a time saver it turned out to be. This thing is sturdy enough to handle day to day use and durable enough to withstand use year after year. Made from galvanized steel, it is made to last a while. Your grand kids will be using this thing to plant bulbs. What makes this tool stand out from others I have tried is this button built into the handle. With a push of the button, any plug of soil that you have pulled from the earth is released easily so you can get right back to creating a new home for another bulb. Let me tell you, once you get to a certain age, you don't want to be on your knees, bent over in the flower beds all day. This tool makes quick and easy work out of getting your bulbs into the ground so you can back on your feet and sipping on iced beverages and enjoying yourself in no time. If you want a shortcut to planting bulbs, you better get one of these before they run out.

I was surprised how easy it was to replant my tulip bulbs, no bulky shovel required, I just pushed the bulb planter into the ground of my flower bed twisted and pulled, planted my bulb then pushed the button to release the dirt back in the hole and tapped down the dirt!! So simple!!

If you need to plant a bunch of bulbs this would be very helpful. It seems easy to use, the handle is comfortable and doesn't require a lot of strength to release. I can't wait to try this when we plant bulbs in the spring. We've always planted them with a shovel, but this should make things go much faster. It's really nice that it includes depth markers so I know how deep to plant different bulbs.

I seen this on walmart.com and seen how it would work great wth my garden this spring. It comes with markers on the planter how far down you need to out it in the dirt to plant your vegetable garden bulbs etc. This will come in very handy when i start my vegetable garden this year. Much better than guessing how far down you need to plant a vegetable seed or flower bulb. I highly recommend.

If you have a ton of bulbs this is the fastest way to get them planted. Easy to use with spring action handle that allows you to easily scoop out the amount of dirt you need to remove for each type of bulb which can be measured by a ruler right on the device with both inches and cm. A must for any gardener that likes lots of bulb flowers in their garden which is me! I love those iris!
