A Must For Every Gardener

Granny July 22, 2020

A must for every gardener is a roll of galvanized hex netting. The Expert Gardener 24x25 Galvanized Hex Netting is the perfect size for smaller projects like making potato towers, or compost bins, or fixing a hole in the fencing to keep the rabbits out. My husband used it to make the potato tower in the pictures. He said the coil set was easily removed, it was easy to form, and good to work with. I've seen some of his projects using other chicken wire and they don't look as sturdy as this one did.

For Poultry Emergency & Other Small Tasks

DatCampG July 14, 2020

The Expert Gardener Galvanized Poultry Netting 25' long and 2 feet wide was perfect for the barn door for my chickens. As I was unraveling inside the house, it had 3' of a single thin wire to keep the roll together. It made me a little nervous, thinking I would have to unroll the entire 25' but that was not the case. It came out very easy. I liked that it had a blue piece of tape on the end so I could see the thin wire that needed to be pulled out. I used that thin wire to wrap it after I was done. The 1" hexagonal mesh weave was lightweight enough for me to start at the top of the door and staple with my heavy duty staple while not yet having to cut the roll. It is durable enough to keep the possums, skunks and weasels out. I liked that I was able to stretch it "a little" being it was a low gauge wire. I have enough left to start another project and that is to wrap around my 4'×4'x4' baby chicks cage so they can't squeeze through the 4" squares. I would definitely reccomend this quality product to others. Thank you very much Walmart!

Great wire

Linlin August 10, 2020

This wire is great for small garden areas or to make a little Guinea pig play area. It is not thick enough for a large animal but it will different work for small ones. This would also be a great crafting wire. You could do all sort of neat crafts with it. It would be easy enough to cut with a pair of clippers since it's not super thick. Overall, great product for the price and very easy to handle.

Galvinized Hex Netting

Bugsy July 19, 2020

I used this Galvenized hex netting to keep my dogs out of my flower garden..The netting which is really a type of fence is very strong but,plyable..The roll it comes in is deceptively small looking. When I started rolling it out is 25 feet long...It was even more than I needed to complete my project... The mesh is heavy duty wire twisted to form hex shaped openings..I was able to work with it easily. It can be wrapped around poles or folded to form whatever is needed. I was able to make it turn 90 degree turns without any problem. Cutting the mesh is no problem either..A pair of wire cutters or wire strippers, cut through with one light snip.It doesn't take alot of hand strength to cut it into sections or end off your project. I would be confident using it for many yard or farm type projects..Keeping animals in or out would work well with this metal mesh..Small animals, not horses or cows.Although in a taller size like 5 or 6 feet probably would work.I don't know what sizes are available..I was using two feet by twenty five feet.. I end this review with "well made galvenized mesh". I would recommend and buy this product..

versatile

srios July 16, 2020

This Galv Hex Netting is so versatile, it doesn't have to just be used for poultry like it says on the package, it can be used for so many other things. It can be used to block the leaves from getting into your gutters, making crafts, containing a garden, and my favorite, using it for my Christmas light display. We zip-tied the strands of lights to the netting to evenly space out the lights and make it easier to wrap the trunk of our tree for Christmas. We also used for Halloween to form bodies and put costumes over them to make them look like real people/villains displayed in our yard. The possibilities are endless with this netting. Can't wait for the holidays and to see what else I can use this for

everything wire

3cats4you July 19, 2020

Oh my goodness, I have to share that I thought of all sorts of things I could do with this Poultry wire! Yes I know it says poultry wire and the picture on the product shows chickens LOL. But there are so many things that you could use it for. My husband thought it would work well in our garden so the peas could grow on it to hold them up. I thought on the same lines but instead of peas I thought of wrapping my tomato plants to hold the fruit off the ground. On the same line of thought you could add this wire to your flower garden for climbing plants or to keep pesty bunnies' out of the garden. Then being a avid crafters I looked at those possibilities and found an endless fountain of ideas especially looking at fall crafts. To use this wire make sure you have gloves and a good pair of wire cutters. It comes rolled tightly but you can bend it to shape the wire easily. After all this thought process of what to use our Poultry wire for, well we ended up getting baby chickens. We used it to build a small chicken pen for them to grow in and be safe. I will be looking for this product in Walmart to use for all those other ideas in the future.

Wire sculptures

Jullianart September 15, 2020

I use this wire to make sculptures. The price seems to be fair and the wire has held up well so far.

easy to work with

Buffalochill July 20, 2020

I have a storage shed in my yard for mower, tools etc. that is raised above the ground. I had lattice boards around the base but critters would break the wood and get under the shed. I installed this Hex netting along the base of the shed then put the lattice back up over the fencing. It took a little work with wire cutters but it was easy to work with and I expect it to keep the bigger critters out. A picture won't work since it is under the lattice.

Farm life

Mseeyore July 16, 2020

I have used this wiring before on my tomato and pepper plants to keep small animals away and it was strong enough to hold tomato and squash plants that over grew. My cousin and I are trying our hand at raising chickens the wiring was used in bottom of the coop since it wasnt enough to cover outsides. Its very strong and galvanized I like it and we will be ordering more.

Perfect for my needs

B April 27, 2021

I used this wire to make a small fence around flowers that rabbits like to eat. Once I got the hang of it, it was fairly easy to work with. I suggest buying the U-shaped anchors, which I did not have. This was my first time working with chicken wire or making a fence, so I am fairly pleased with the results. So far, no rabbits in the flower bed--after one week.
