I have a large variety of wildlife around me. The most troublesome being armadillos. I set double door traps right against the fence rows. The armadillos crawl along the fence and walk right into the traps. Rabbits obviously are completely unable to get through the fence. I place metal stakes every 6 feet or so, and use tent stakes to secure the areas between. Problems solved!
I decided to use the rabbit fence as tomato cages. I couldn't be more impressed. The metal is sturdy and still you're able to work with it (cut, bend). I could see myself using these tomato cages for years to come. The height is perfect, good quality and overall I am very impressed. They hold up bush-type tomatoes very well. I made 7 decent size cages and have enough left to make 2-3 more.
THE RABBIT GUARD FENCE ROLL is a 24 inch by 50 feet roll made of galvanized steel which is corrosion resistance. It has graduated spacing(smaller at the bottom) for maxium protection so the rabbits cannot squeeze through. When you first get it, unroll it and lay flat, so it will straighten out, and it will be easier to put up. Once you're ready to install, dig a narrow trench so the bottom of the fence is underground. Fill in the trench with dirt on both sides of the fence to secure the stability of the fence. The ends can be closed with wire ties or string(not included) or just overlap the ends a little. Posts at the four corners will also help to keep your fence from shifting. I found this fence to be much stronger than others I have used and with a large wild rabbit population in my neighborhood, it has been throughly tested.
We have rabbits, deer, skunks, and family pets that all seem to like our lettuce plants, or at least digging them up. We had to think of a way to keep all these animals out without hurting them. My husband came up with the idea to build a raised bed and when I saw this rabbit fencing, I was pretty sure this would do the trick. We both are happy with our solution. This roll of rabbit fencing was easier to roll out than I expected it to be. We used zip ties to secure the fencing to wood posts to the corners of our raised bed and stapled it along the tops of the wooden bed. We went back a couple of days later and stretched the fencing over the top and secured it with zip ties to the posts and to the upright fence that we originally installed.
I live in a place with everything from deer to bunnies, including the occasional coyote. This wire is strong, not that flimsy chicken wire Stands up to something wanting what is on the other side. No need for poles with hooks to keep it up. Straight poles will do. Because of its construction, animals cannot pull it down .sturdy. Also does not rust on the rain Would be good as a pen enclosure for small animals as well.
This came just in time for my vegetable harvest! It took maybe two minutes from the time I cut the packaging open till I unrolled the fence and wrapped it around my raised garden bed. I attached the two ends with zip ties and I was done! I am planning on using a good part of the fence for my deck. I will put it along the gap on the bottom where my smallest do has been jumping off after squirrels. I am going to attach this with my staple gun. I had a plastic version of this up in the past but it eventually cracked. This should last as long as I need it. Very pleased.
I received the Expert Gardener 24 In. H x 50 Ft. L Galvanized Steel Rabbit Guard Fence from the Walmart Spark Reviewer Program. This fence is ideal for beginner gardeners like myself. It has stopped the rabbits from entering my little garden area. Since putting up the fence the rabbits have not been able to eat my little crop. This fence has been a life saver. I would recommend this fence to prevent the area animals from helping themselves to the young shoots, plants and blooms.
I was quite surprised that this fence is much sturdier than the one I currently have. It's low enough that I can step over it. It keeps the little critters out of my garden. So far, the deer haven't found my little garden. If they are a problem for you, then you would need a higher fence. If this company makes a taller fence, I would recommend it.
About this I purchased this galvanized wire to extend the height of my chain link fence because I have an English setter dog that wouldn't stay in the yard. It stands up freely on its own. I purchase separate wire to clip and hook this to my fence that was already there. It is the perfect height that your dog will not jump out of it it's strong it's easy to put together. I am absolutely happy with this product. Great price
Use this for the edge of the garden to keep the rabbits and ground hogs from eating our veggies. Overall the fence is nice and sturdy and was packaged well. I took away one star due to some of the wires being bent beyond belief. It made it hard to unwind. I also wish it was a bit taller. I would recommend this product to a friend due to the fact that it does its job and is a good material. No creatures in our garden!
