This is a Christmas gift for my Son-in-law who loves to grill and smoke food, especially game. I saw them used on the Food Channel to smoke food and thought it would make a good gift for a griller.

Totally recommend this item. We marinated a salmon and cooked it on an electric outdoor grill. The flavor was absolutely delicious and all throughout the whole fish.

I cooked 2 pieces of salmon on a gas grill. I soaked the plank in water overnight. I did rub a little cooking oil on the upside and placed the fish in the grill. It cooked slowly, and after flipping, I turned on a second burner and moved the plank over both. Then I went inside to prepare salad and rice. I came out to a smoking grill and I was thinking this is going to be great. I opened the grill top to find nothing but char. The wood burned and the fish burned. Luckily the skin side of the salmon was up and underneath was nice moist fish on moist plank. The fish was delicious. I now know that the plank will burn with enough heat and not to leave it unattended towards the end of cook time. Next time will be better. That's why they give you two planks in the package .

These came much longer than I thought, well I really didn't pay attention to dimensions but they should be very effective for a while, glad I got them and will update this review once I use and share functionality.

i am new to fish grilling and after buying i found other sellers at less than half the price i paid for these - so i ordered a 10-plank set and it is great! This brand is ok too but way to costly!

Follow directions explicitly for soaking in water and using indirect heat. thing caught fire anyway and ruined the salmon
