I've been hearing all the buzz about butcher paper in the smoker, for some time now. I finally got the chance to try it and I won't be without butcher paper for smoking again. I started out with brisket. 225 degree smoker, some apple juice, some salt, pepper and other seasonings. When the brisket hit 165, I took it out and wrapped it in 3 layers of butcher paper and returned to a fresh batch of wood chips and 2 more hours to bring the temp to around 205. I'd heard of the benefits of wrapping a brisket, the drier bark, a more even smoke, a better flavor and juicer meat. All of these things are true. The paper provides the perfect environment for better, well just better. After the success with the brisket I wanted to see what would happen if I used the same concept with my ribs. Another great success. Juicy, tender meat, crisp flavorful bark. I'll be adding this product to my regular smoking regimen and will be exploring all the ways it can enhance my smoker adventures. The paper doesn't burn or have any chemical to cook off into your food. It peels freely from the paper and when it comes to serving time, it looks really good under all that Smokey meat. Great product and an easy way to add tons of flavor and juiciness to your efforts.
Great product. Purchased before !!
This is heavy duty, high-quality butcher paper. We struggle with brisket; It comes out like pot roast (ugh). We did some research and most of the articles we read said to use butcher paper because it breathes, allowing some moisture to escape. We haven't had a chance to try this butcher paper with a brisket yet, but can't wait. Hopefully we'll get better results than we're getting now. The box says you can even use it for serving your barbecue, a fun way to make it feel like a restaurant at home! Roll is huge: 183 ft², It's 22-in wide by 100 ft long.
The Expert Grill Pink Butcher Paper, 40 lb., Uncoated, 22" x 100 works well in my smoker. I used this paper to wrap a bone in turkey breast for Thanksgiving. The paper stood up to the cooking process, did not disintegrate when the turkey lost juices and allowed the smoke to enter. The paper is heavy weight and as the title suggests, it is uncoated. My smoker got up to 270 degrees and the paper was just fine. The width of this paper is 22 inches and there are 100 feet of it on the roll so I will be able to use this for the pork butts I smoke monthly for quite some time as well as special uses like my turkey breast. The paper was easy to fold around my meat and as you can see from my photo, it maintained structure during smoking. The box the roll comes in has a handy metal serrated edge for cutting the paper and as you can see from my other photo the paper came off the roll in a nice straight cut. Overall, this is a great product. Holds up to use in a smoker, tears off evenly and maintains its integrity during the smoking process. 5 stars!
Great tough Butcher paper that works well on a smoker or even an over at lower than 350 degrees .The smoker is easy to cook on and smoked meat I love works well on this Butcher paper with no plastic coating .one hundred and eighty three square feet and 22 inches wide is great fit for my large smoker and works great .This Pink Butcher paper locks in heat and moisture and really makes the meat tender . I did a slow smoked wild meat {deer} and a few veggies and I added a few slices of bacon to the top and wow what flavor .I also smoke jerky and it comes out tender with Pink Butcher Paper. I often serve right on the paper and keep a strip on the table if I have bone in meat for disposal .The Pink Butcher paper is made by Expert Grill and is 40 lb paper .There is and FDA compliant notice .There is a paper cutter on the edge of the box too. Use this Pink Butcher paper for prep on your table or wrap up leftovers you can reheat in your over .There is a great crispy top on my meat too.
This butcher paper is super strong, and does exactly what it's supposed to. We also use it for things other than meat. It works great in place of parchment paper, or for wrapping up food (like sandwiches) that we don't want to dry out. We will definitely need more after we run out of this roll!
I've enjoyed using this butcher paper to smoke some meats out! The paper is very tough, I like that this is very big so you always have enough to cover all meats. It locks in heat which helps cook meat and keep it nice and tender. I mostly like to smoke ribs, and gosh they always come out so tender since I've been using this butcher paper. It's so rich than it Can handle the weight of the ribs, from prepping, to cooking, to serving, this is a great paper. The box fell very heavy, but it's because there's a lot of paper in there, 183 square ft of paper, measures 22 in. wide X 100 ft long. You get more than enough product. Differently recommend getting the pink butcher paper for smoking meat and getting a great tender and great tasting meat all the time.
Expert Grill Butcher Paper is an awesome addition to the tools for grilling at home. This butcher paper is uncoated and is recommended for temps up to 300*f. This is for use in a smokers, not on grills or over an open flame. When used as designed, the paper helps to contain heat and moisture in the food being cooked. This paper roll is large enough to cover pretty much whatever size roast or ribs or brisket you choose. It is 22”w x 100'l. The best way to use is to braise or sear the meat and then wrap it up in this butcher paper and continue grilling/cooking until desired “doneness”. Use it instead of foil. It allows the meat to breath which keeps the crisp char on your meat. There are no toxic chemicals that will mess with the taste . When wrapped in foil your meat steams and you loose the crisp. This paper also keeps the moisture locked in so your meat is not dry. Just as a side note, we used this paper for our shrimp boil. I put the paper down on our table as a “plate” and then put the food on top. Lots of great ways to use this butcher paper. :)
Great and easy to use. I had no bad side effects, no leakage, no taste change. The roll is generous and well made. Really useful for both smoking and packing.
This butcher paper is really good when it comes to grilling sweet potatoes. I always crave for sweat potatoes cooked with charcoal. However, when I placed them directly on a grill, they start to burn quickly. Luckily with this butcher paper, the sweet potatoes no longer got burnt and they came out so sweet and creamy. The best part is that this is made with all natural materials, so I don't have to worry about the harmful chemicals.
