This is the first game my 5 year old has played to the end using the actual rules (mostly). Fun and easy to understand, great way to practice numbers!
I played Monster Match with three of my kids a few days ago, and now my 6-year-old won't put it down. Every time one of his friends comes over, he pulls it off the shelf and says, "Check this out." They broke my coffee table earlier today playing it, so make sure your table is sturdy if you have a group of rambunctious boys slapping it 😅
The artwork and setup of the game is adorable! What a great way to practice quick analysis and reflexes. Simple enough for your youngest kids to play, but fun for the whole family. My kids are already thinking about adding in their own monsters to give the game a bit of personalized flavor.
My daughter thought the monster's were cute. The one that looked like a plunger was her favorite.The games was easy to start, quick to get through, and didn't have some of the normal fighting over who picked the card first, which was nice and calming.Our first game we had the cards all facing one direction which seemed to give that person an advantage so the second one we rotated the cards. That definitely balanced it out.Only drawback is that the cards themselves felt a little flimsy, like shuffling a few times would curl them or they wouldn't hold up to liquids being spilled on them.
We played monster match with my 4year old nephew and it was an absolute hit! We played for about 2 hours and had such a fun time. My nephew now knows how to play the game word for word, it challenges his mind to connect the monster cards with the dice he rolled and he loves counting his points at the end! We love it and have no negative things to say. Definitely recommend for the younger kiddos!
This was a gift and haven't heard how well it was liked but it looked entertaining and other reviews were pretty good .
Kept a 5 year old boy entertained about 30 minutes and then it lost his interest. It's ok
