Extang 88636 Solid Fold ALX Hard Folding Tonneau Fits 2019-2022 Ford Ranger 5'1" Bed

This is my third Extang Solid Fold Cover. Installation instructions and videos were for Tundra without Deck Rail System. I figured out how to do it. Also, cover was shipped in a box designed for a bigger cover. It arrived with the box all damaged with openings. Surprisingly, all the parts were still in the box and cover was not damaged which speaks for how durable the cover is built.

I have had 2 different hard covers in the past 100 years. This is the best hard cover. Sits on top the bed so you do not loose any room or have rails running on the inside. Water tight and bed stays cool in the summer heat. Other covers allow the interior of bed to get very hot. I would like to see it an inch or so longer to cover more of the top of tail gate. I am going to fabricate raising the bed highth 2 to 3 inches to add more room in the bed. This cover will sit and fasten on top. It will attach to the bed the same way.

Well I'm not happy with this cover did everything the directions with the cover it doesn't sit right on truck bed, it leaks all the time it rains I tried to move it around some and it seem it's not sitting correctly the middle section on the cover seems not flat on bed rails. I had the same cover on my Chevrolet Colorado pick up and it was great not this one.

Good quality build. Easy to install with the PDF directions. I had an issue with the install (since I only skimmed over the directions) and customer support could quickly help. I've had a few truck bed covers and this 3 panel folding design is the best all around design. It's strong and secure yet quickly folds or even removes. I was able to remove the 56 lbs cover in 60 seconds by unscrewing the 4 fasteners by hand and picking it up.

Instructions need to be updated for more recent model years than 2022 which is why i gave installation 4 stars instead of 5. However, the first cover came to me with a bid ding in it and i refused delivery. Realtruck had a new cover to me in less than a week. Good people.

Nice cover. Much better than the one I had on a Honda Ridgeline a couple of years ago. I like the knob design and latches for opening the cover. My only complaint is that the installation video was for a Ford F150 when I have a GMC Denali, and that the parts that came had no instructions at all. Took me a little while to discern where they went and the order in which they should be mounted. Otherwise ver nice.

I really like this cover. I've had the Extang on previous trucks. My only complaint is the installation instructions. They threw in a couple of extra pieces that were critical for installation but didn't tell you what to do with them. I had to figure it out myself after struggling for awhile. Other than that, once it was installed, I like the one handed release very much. It is not water proof. Going though the Carwash it gets wet in the back. It also does not seal tight up by the cab of the truck. You can see daylight because the front rail of the bed is not flat.

The first cover sent to me had a manufacturing defect which didn't allow the front hinge to lay flat. How it passed the QC is a mystery. A replacement was sent to me in short order but that one got damaged during shipment. Real Truck sent another cover and all is good and the cover looks great!

It is a nice cover and does exactly what I wanted it to do. No complaints at all. It was I that ordered the wrong cover and didn't feel like sending it back. It is a very nice product

The cover looks great. Installation took longer than advertised. Installation video is not up-to-date so pieces that were told to use were not included in shipping because we were to use other pieces in shipping that weren't in the video. We had to figure that part out on our own. Originally ordered 5/4/26, given arrival date of 5/14/26. It was not even shipped by 5/14. Given new date of 5/19 but then shipping was lost. Finally arrived 5/22 and was wrong cover. Holiday weekend so had to wait til 5/26 and was given a new date of 6/4. Return was easy, personnel polite and helpful. Again not even shipped on 6/4 and given 6/9. Arrived 6/20. Product is great. I had to keep following up on it. Timeline with dates were unacceptable.
