I like this tonneau cover very much. It's not perfect though as I wish it was completely watertight and the clips that the prop rods seat in need to be more robust. They are flimsy as I have already had one break on me. Overall I would recommend and would buy again. Easy install too.
Bought a cover and there was a manufacturer malfunction. Called and was given instructions on what to do to get a resolution. Within a day I was told a new one would be on the way with pictures sent of the malfunction. This was done and within a few weeks I had my new cover. I enjoy this cover a lot as it helps with our summer activities. Thank you, Adam H.
I am surprised at how little water gets in. If any. Most covers I've owned allow even a small amount in, which includes Retrax MX One. This seems to do even better. Although slightly heavy when opening up the last fold when standing outside of the truck, it's still not too bad. Overall a super nice cover. Time will tell...
I wanted a tonneau cover because I have a new pickup with a locking tailgate. Now I can put stuff in the bed and have it secure and out of the weather. A friend of mine recommended Extang to me and I looked at tonneau covers made by other companies. I went with the Xceed model mainly because it looked the best to me. Also, it's configured so that I can fold it out of the way if I need to get full use of my truck bed. It was shipped to my house real quickly. One little plastic clip had broken during shipping. I called their customer service line and they sent me a replacement clip and a few spares. Installation went smoothly with the clear instructions that came with the cover. I put mine on by myself and it wasn't to hard. Another set of hands would have made it easier. I have no regrets about buying an Extang Exceed tonneau cover.
I was looking for a hard-folding tonneau cover with a non-glossy, scratch-resistant surface and clean look, and I think the Xceed checks all those boxes. I installed the Xceed on my 2018 F-150 short bed (5.5') with OEM bedliner already installed. To my delight, I didn't need to do any trimming of the liner in order to accommodate the rails … the tailgate still opens and closes easily. My installation was delayed by a couple of defective pieces of minor hardware, but Extang shipped replacements quickly. I'm 65 and 5'8" tall, and had no problems installing this unit without assistance; that includes lifting the ~ 60# folded cover and setting it into place without issue. I haven't installed the drain hoses yet … waiting for a good rain to check for water in the bed before bothering. If I do install the hoses, I'll probably just route them to the holes in the liner for the front cargo cleats. Very satisfied with the product overall so far (less than 1 month ownership).
I m use to the bed covers that sticks up and look like they're going to blow off. But the exceed by Extang is the perfect all around look for my truck. It's easy on the looks easy accessibility but not easy on the wallet. It's a little expensive but that's to be expected with the quality product you're getting.
I bought this cover about three years ago. It's easy to install. Very sturdy, and looks great. Some people complain about the twist mechanism but that never bothered me. My only issue is with the leather looking cover. After about a year it started to peel up on one edge. I tried liquid cement but it didn't stay. Now it's starting to peel up on the other side. I live in OH and it really doesn't get that hot. This covering wouldn't last a year in AZ or TX. My plan is to remove the covering. I think it actually will look pretty good. All in all I like the cover but might be better to buy one without the EndraCoat material covering.
Like the one I put on my Canyon, this one also had drilling chips that I had to blow off so they wouldn't scratch the cover during install. Several screws had to reset and one of the tie down holders had an oversize hole so I had to use one size larger screw to assemble the tie down hlders. Once installed cover looked great.
Less than a year from initial purchase and the material on top keeps peeling, looks like the glue breaks down and the material on top the starts to peel back and wrinkle. Already replaced my cover once under warranty. The replacement is showing same issue in a few months, this will be two covers replaced in less than one year. Glad I got a 5yr warranty but would prefer the cover to last longer.
