Most laptops don't have a cd/dvd drive and the one on my older laptop doesn't want to work so this external drive was a nice, inexpensive replacement.

I still use DVD's and this works great. I have data I put on a DVD back in 1994. Still works! Now I have a way to retain my records. Lost too many files to computer crashes, DVD's are still the way to keep important photos and documents.

I've used this for about a month. This was a replacement for a similar item I had purchased that never worked with my iMac. This works fine. I like the plug being a USB-C or standard USB. I have not tried burning anything. I have only played DVDs, but that function works well. I have only used the native Apple software,not the device software, which does not come up automatically. Installation was plug and play.

No frills, just a USB connected CD/DVD player. No drivers required in Windows 11. Just plug and play. Does what it claims to do at a good price.

I'm not savvy with computers or "gadgets" so it took me a while to get things going. the product is a must if you have a newer computer. it allows you to reinstall some of the dvd disks from your earlier computers, games, photos that didn't transfer.

This device was only about $13, so it isn't the end of the world, but the player will be recognized if you put in a prerecorded CD, but the computer will not recognize the device if you put in a blank CD. I am using a Mac. So I have a device that will allow me to watch or hear CD's but I don't have a device that will allow me to burn CD's.

I did not receive this item. I did receive 2 Pop-Up Mobile External. Neither one works. I was hoping this item would work..,..but I never received it.

Did not work. Returned it. It did power on when I connected it, but my computer never 'saw' it. It never appeared in my file explorer. I tried putting in a DVD, but it still didn't appear in my file explorer. Then it wouldn't open again. I finally got my DVD out by gently pulling on the door as it tried to open.

would only start up 1 time in 10 attempts. suspect not compatible with Windows 11? sent it back.
