The Western Digital simply stopped working. A search of my options revealed that a 1TB Seagate may be a good choice. Despite the tracking history reading more like an unfinished novel, the plot improved after what seemed to be multiple, extra days. Seagate on a Mac is sadly NOT a plug-and-play; rather, it took reformatting and made my Time Machine much less useful. I had hoped to leave it connected to the MBA for auto back-ups but I find myself removing the laptop from its charging station so often that the current set-up makes little sense. My hope is to put the Time Machine back to work on daily back-ups and to perform manual back-ups via the Seagate once a week. All in all, the price point seems fair... I just hope Seagate gives me what I paid for.

This model went bad within 30 days. It messed up the operating system of my PC every time I plugged it in. Do not buy it is my strong advice. Plus, no refunds or replacements.

I have been alternating two drives for my laptops for quite some time. I am using Seagate One Touch Drives right now. When I saw these drives on sale I thought it was a great time to get some spares.

If you already have a backup device, buy this one as a 2nd backup Hard Drive, that way if one goes bad, you have your personal files saved on another device! ;)
