I've been using this target for a few range trips, and it makes target practice even more enjoyable. I've been using .22LR rimfire and 9MM pistols, and it's held up just fine. I do suggest using a sturdy chain, as this is a very small target to aim for, especially with iron sights at 25 yards. To hang it at the range, I used two one-foot lengths of 3/8" grade 43 steel chain (from big orange store), and then hung that from two 2-foot rubber tarp straps. The holes in the plate take standard 1/2" carriage bolts (I used a 2" long carriage bolt). The chain sandwiched between two 1.25" fender washers, and held on with a 1/2" nut. Works quite well, and the chain/carriage bolts shrug off errant hits. I would definitely buy this again. Be sure to buy some spray paint, as this soon turns to a dull lead gray as the paint is blasted off.
This little plate was able to perform above its own weight class. I got it on the way to the range, practically expecting to punch some Holes in it and then toss it. Boy was I wrong! The hardware on the rubber straps that Walmart sells being another story, but that is in things review. This Plate Survived 2 range trips so far. Taking everything from .556 Green Tip, to .300 Win Mag! With some .308, and 7.5x55 Swiss in between for good measure! This thing ate it all up and said “Thank You Sir, May I please have some more?” What a CHAMP! The photos tell the story better than I can.
1/2 inch carriage bolts (not included) fit perfectly to mount on my target stands. Target face has held up well to fmj 9mm. Bought 12 so far to set up a PCC competition range.
I was skeptical about purchasing these steel targets, but for the price i decided to buy a few. To my surprise they have held up great! I have shot them with .22lr, 9mm, .357, .38spcl, and .40! I have placed them at 10,meters 15 meters, and up to 25 meters. The ones i bought ate 4 inch diameter and 3/8 inch thick.
I like the fact that you have several options to hang it up. However the add on Wal-Marts website said it was .80" thick which is the real reason I ordered it. It is actually only 3/8" thick so I will have to find a different one for my higher power rifles.
We have a lot of experience with the outdoors and practicing shooting is one of them. Our house,, firing range and deer camp is where we do some plinking with targets. We have used this brand before. This can be easily hung or left standing. It's very portable and sturdy. Accuracy is based on what you shoot and distance. You can actually use this at 100 yards with a rifle. I would say with plinking your bullets will leave marks, from my experience. Highly recommend this 8 inch especially with 22 and pistol.
we shot the sheit, out of this thing. other than the paint and decals wich is natural, it held up great
This is top shelf. Indestructible. I love it. I also have the 4 inch GONG target as well. I love to hear the sound when I NAIL the target and get locked in. DING DING DING. Its incredible.
High Quality AR500 Steel Target. Priced very reasonably. These are twice the price in my local gun shop. I now have 5. Like them very much for rifle practice.
Ordered and paid for 4 10 inch and received 3 8 inch. Had to fight with customer service and do the math to figure out the diy. The agent was useless.
