Being used to a Cutco ratchet pruner and not being able to replace it, I chose these. I haven't put it through heavy paces yet, like cutting a thick hydrangea branch, but it did well on my rose bush. At the moment my only complaint is the safety lock switch, which is very difficult to move to the open position, but may loosen up in time. Locking it seems easier. I like the looped handle and my hand fits in it fine. I was a little disturbed that my package looked open when received and we looked closely at the blades to see if it might have been a return, but it seemed new (it had some grease on the blades), so deducted one star. Since it is guaranteed for life, I am happy with purchase.

Work really well. I am 75 and do a lot of gardening... these really help with the pruning process... makes the sturdier branches much easier to remove.

awful returning

Very hard to open and not "sharp". This seemed like a very good option instead of going for a cheaper brand. I now wish even though they may not last as long I should have bought the cheaper brand which probably would be just as sharp for cutting. Will not recommend or ever buy another pair of these especially because of the price with them being an inferior product.
