Read carefully for size. This refill is thicker than what I assumed was a standard ballpoint. Making a large line is interesting but it smudges and uses a lot of ink. Not great for a daily driver. I'd recommend the smaller sizes. Also, when refills cost as much or more than the pens, as these do, I feel disappointed and deceived. I'm probably screaming into the void but, why not reward folks for being conservative and less wasteful. The pen is made of steel. Up-charge the refill and your would be dedicated customer becomes a bozo for trying to do the right thing. The nostalgia I have for zebra pens is a massive hook for the company. Now we're making a new story where I'm better off dropping my steel pen case in the trash and buying a new one.
Just what I needed 1
Writes very smothly.
We love our Zebra pens and only buy this brand. We are divided on the type of ink used with 1/2 the family liking regular ink like this refill and the other 1/2 liking gel ink. I was under the impression that the metal holders were specifically designed for one refill or the other but not both. My husband let me know the gel refills fit into both but I don't think the metal holders for the gel will fit the regular ink cartridge which is why I bought these refills. Either way, Zebra pens do an amazing job and these refills were designed as a replacement and work perfectly.
Love the new Zebra ball point pens and refills. It's a good quality refillable, and using NORMAL ball point ink, not the nasty gel ink (which seems to dry out before the cartridge is empty), nor liquid ink (which uses a really sharp, scratchy point). The barrel is a little narrow for me, so I bought some separate silicone grips and put them on the pens. Wow -- new favorite pen!
They arrived and exactly what I expected as a few years before I bought a pack of 2 of them somewhere. I did a search for pens online and your site was one that that search led to. The price along with shipping and handling was very reasonable so I bought 2 sets of 2. A few days ago the second of the original set dried up so started using the new ones. The first stroke it wrote clearly with no mess so exactly what I had hoped for. I use very few pens now as am retired but have those for the future when needed.
I have purchased these items along with other Zebra pens for years. They write very smooth and I can write with ease.I enjoy the Medium Point. However, when attempting to purchased on line the FINE is sent in place of the MEDIUM!! I have many FINE refills and no use for them.
I'm now a grateful, forever fan of your F-701 writing instrument, thrilled to now own three of them AND I proudly show them off to others, telling them all about the pens and who makes them. I will put different color inks into each and will use them every day at my job. Sadly however, the ink that I will be using will not come from you. The ink that comes w/the pens plus these refills leave too much to be desired. They are too light in color, they skip lots and are simply horrid. They do NOT do justice to the awesome, super high quality F-701 pens. So I've investigated, searched, talked w/others and finally found another very well-known company's ink refills that will work just fine in your pens. I sincerely hope Zebra will step up soon, dump the ink they are now using and find a better quality ink for their pens. TY.

I am very happy that my F-301 Zebra pen that I discovered accepts replacement ink cartridges so that it can be used over and over again. It's not a one-use throw-away plastic pen. Down with one-use throw-away plastic products! Thank you, Zebra, for changing that trend in ink pens. Plus, my Zebra pen is so very smooth to write with. I love it.
