Faber- Castell Do Art Drawing and Sketching Set: Ages 9+

Overall, I am really happy with the Faber-Castell Drawing and Sketching art set. It says it's for ages 9+, which is a great age based on how this is more advanced than crayons and a coloring book! The kit comes with a 20-page booklet with step-by-step instructions on how to use various art techniques such as sketching, composition, textures, smudging, etc., 4 graphite pencils of varying lead hardness, 3 grip black ink pens of varying nib sizes, 24-page sketchbook, tracing paper and copy grid, pencil sharpener, eraser, and a zippered storage pouch. It's a great starter set! The quality is really nice and seems pretty sturdy. The pages in the sketchbook are a little thicker than typical paper, and we haven't had any problems with bleeding through to the next page. The eraser is a really generous size and works well with the graphite pencils. The pens are easy to use and work really well. The pencils are easy to sharpen with the pencil sharpener provided. The instruction booklet is pretty easy to follow along with and is really great at showing various drawing techniques! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice quality, starter art set for doing more advanced artistic drawings.

I have never been an artist before, so I thought hey let's give this a shot. I must say this little set was awesome. It came with everything you need, and the pouch was perfect for storing all my new supplies. I also like the booklet, which was helpful and detailed, but easy to follow. My niece has recently gotten into drawing so when she came over, I let her try it out. She loved it and guess who has to buy her one for her Christmas present. Overall great product!

This art kit is just exactly what a child interested in art needs. It has a tutorial brochure, a drawing paf, different kinds of pencils, sharpener, and some other little but important things. I got this fir my stepdaughter who is very interested in drawing. We didn't need to add anything to this! Bottom line. Child is happy, and therefore I'm happy with this art kit.

My son loves to draw. Last year he was 10 and he would not have liked this, because he wasn't ready to really follow directions when it came to drawing. To help with your designing and pencils you also get a Plastic Copy Grid, 1 Eraser and 1 Sharpener. It brags about a nice step by step guide to teach drawing and although I would say its actually a very simple little booklet it does teach some needed skills for sketching nice pieces of art. I was able to follow the instructions and quickly sketch a nice flower sketch. Its definitely a great little set and small enough to take anywhere. Daughter has loved it. She is 10 and almost out of paper in a little over a week. She has gotten much more creative in her exploring art. The Faber- Castell Do Art Drawing and Sketching Set is a nice sketching set. My daughter enjoys playing with it. It has helped her a bit with her drawing. I think my nephew would enjoy it too. It would be great for boys and girls. I do think you should stick to older kids. As the younger ones wouldn't follow the steps. Very happy with his set.

It's been a long time since I've sketched or drawn anything. It's nice that it came with the 20 page illustrated instruction book. It made it easy to remember what my art teachers had taught me in school. It comes with a pencil sharpener and eraser. The plastic zipper storage pouch broke first time I used it but was able to easily put the plastic zipper part back on. I'm having fun again drawing with this set.

This is a great starter set for a novice artist. It has all. You need to begin learning to sketch and draw. My son is our budding little artist and. He really enjoyed this set. He has made us all some really cool stuff with. It. He really enjoys learning to sketch.
