Nice quality of sample size pastels. Bright colors, don't smear too much and come in a nice tray that is double boxed. They do color fingers like others, but also wash away easily. Also comes with small instruction book with tips on creating and saving your art.

I am not an artist, but I have been interested in trying new things, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to try out an art technique. I received the package of 24 mini soft pastels in a range of colors from basic black and white to yellows, oranges, reds, blues, greens, and browns. The colors are vibrant and while small, I think these will be a great starting point for me. The pastels are really easy to use and smudge to create your very own work of art. This brand is also known for their high quality, so I would definitely recommend to people like me who want to try something different in the new year!

My daughter has a bit of a creative touch and loves to draw and color. This little set is perfect for her needs. It gives her a wide variety of colors to draw with and she is pleased with this set They seem to write/draw smoothly and have great pigmentation for the crafts she is doing Overall I am very happy with this set and will buy again for my daughter so she can continue with her creativity.

It arrived damaged but that doesn't take away from the product. It was easy to use. Colors are vibrant and easily blendable. Good variety of colors. Even includes a small pamphlet to get you started. I started sketching and before I knew it 1 hour had passed. Good starter kit!

I am a Spark Reviewer for Walmart and was sent a free 24 pack of FABER-CASTELL Mini Soft Pastels to review. Soft pastels are like a crayon and chalk together, but the “paint” or pigment is solid. They go on paper or canvas dry. Soft pastels are easy to use, and I can create many different types of pictures. When I press down harder on them, I can get a thick dark line or color. By using the full square end, I can get a soft thicker line or a wider dark line. I can use my fingertips or a dry paint brush to soften and mix the colors together. As you can see from my photo, I used a 3x5 card and mixed a few of the blues together with my fingers to soften and spread the colors. For the flowers I used the edges to make darker lines. This little picture only took about 5 minutes to make. The Faber-Castell soft pastels go on smooth and the colors are very rich. Each mini pastel is 1 ¼ inch long and about ¼ inch wide. They blended nicely with my fingertips and washed off easily with soap and water. The 24 Mini pack is nice to carry in a backpack or kit as they are nicely boxed with individual slots for each color. The box is 7 ½ inches by 3 ½” wide. It has a spectrum of shades including white, yellows, orange, reds, blues, purples, greens, beige, browns and deep black. I can mix the colors with your fingertips to create my own custom colors. When I smooth them with my fingertips or a brush, they really shown dimensions and bring my artwork to life. I really enjoy using the Faber-Castell pastels as they add a pretty touch to a lot of things and the Faber-Castell Mini Soft Pastels are a great addition to my craft kit.

I received this set of soft pastels as part of the Spark Reviewer Program. My daughter loves doing artwork and has used pastels several times before. She loves the vibrant color in these. Even though some does get on the hands it is easier to wash off than others she has used. These do not smear or crumble. She has enjoyed using these. Recommended.

I love the set of mini pastels there is such an array of shades and tones in the colors you really can create a beautiful work of art. They are fairly small but as long as you have them in the grasp of your upper finger so shouldn't be a problem and you can also use them on the sides as well to get more color quicker and to blend easier. These would work for any budding beginning artist or professional artist as well and the box of small enough to take anywhere!

One of my adopted daughters does amazing artwork. My hallway is covered, and I am so blessed. These were a wonderful addition to her art tools. These pastels are smooth to use. They aren't grainy. They don't snap and break easily. This smaller 24 piece set that I have doesn't include as many colors as I would have liked. I would recommend buying the larger set with more hues and tones to choose from. These small half sticks are nice in that you aren't buying a lot of a color you may not need often or at all, and that's a definite benefit. This gives the opportunity to experiment without a lot of waste. I like that these have flat sides and don't roll away from you when you set them down. When working on things one doesn't always put it immediately back in the tray, so it's nice to be able to set one down without it taking off on you.

I received the Faber-Castell Goldfaber Studio Soft Pastels for free through the Walmart Spark Review Program. I was excited to receive and review this product as I am a big fan of art and crafts. I love to color and paint which I find really relaxing. One of my favorite things to do is to color and be able to blend the colors to a smooth finish. I love that just a simple piece of tissue paper rubbed on the paper just smooths out the entire picture perfectly. This Faber-Castell Goldfaber Studio Soft Pastels set contains 24 (approx. 1 1/2 inch) soft nontoxic chalky pastels in a rainbow of rich bright colors. I have used many pastels in my lifetime and these are not of the best quality They are more like chalk than a creamier pastel. They also make a real mess on your hands because there are no paper wrappers on them. So, I would not put these in the hands of smaller children. This package and product size does make it great for travel but make sure you have wet wipes to clean your hands and area when you are done. I do not believe I would go out and purchase these again if given the option. I do not recommend if you love to work with pastels.
