Needed 1 more and this matches my other 5 perfectly
I have no idea why people seem to expect facets yarn to be like worsted weight or sport weight or any other weight yarn when this is CLEARLY a LOOSELY spun roving style of yarn. If you don't know what that is maybe you shouldn't be using it. It is meant to go from super thin to thick THAT is it's feature ? instead of complaining either learn to work with it or go back to your 3/4ply yarns!
I'm in the process of crocheting with this yarn. The colors are gorgeous and the feel is so soft. My only issue is that it splits easily. But. It's worth it!
Product is very nice. It is soft and use use is very good. I need to takeoff 15 on my yarn to be credited and refunded is that possible it's not $30 at 64 something
The colors are beautiful. Works up well. However it freys easily, has inconsistant weight from very light to fairlt thick. It is fine for what I am using it for but be aware.
I have a love/hate feeling about this yarn. I love the drape, the sheen, the softness and the way the colors transition. I love the thick to thin transitions. I hate the way this yarn easily tangles. I hate the way it twists like crazy when you pull the yarn away from the skein. It's like wrestling with a barrel of snakes. The yarn label recommends a size J hook. That size is fine except when the yarn becomes so ultra thin. The yarn doesn't split so easily as some others do.
The yarn is beautiful but so difficult to work with - I tried to use it for a crocheted plush but the yarn splits like crazy, small stitches are tough to see, and the yarn tangles with itself if you accidentally split a strand so that undoing even one or two stitches is impossible. Probably would be ok to work with using a large hook for a looser knit/gauge but could not make it work for amigurumi.
I wish any other yarn came in these beautiful gradient colors! As others have said this yarn is really difficult to work with - it splits and tangles easily so undoing stitches is impossible. But I LOVE the gradient colors - Loops & Threads please consider making some classic cotton or acrylic yarns with these tones! I don't always want electric bright colors, the more rich, muted, and jewel toned colors are gorgeous. I tried so hard to make this yarn work because it's so pretty but I had to admit defeat.
This yarn is beautiful but not easy to work with. It's slippery and pulls apart if tension is tight, watch out for tangles too. It's not unusable, just keep these things in mind when using this yarn. ;)
I bought this for my granddaughter who is learning to knit. She asked me to get it started. This yarn literally pulled apart as I was casting on. I was not rough or pull hard on it. I thought maybe it was just weak at the start, so I cut off the beginning and started over. I was able to finally cast on 40 stitches, but it was very difficult. And I am very sure my granddaughter will be frustrated enough to never finish this scarf. It's a shame because it was very pretty. Why does it just fall apart?
