I've always hated Greek yogurt until I tried Fage! This is not as sour tasting and much smoother than any other Greek yogurt I've tried. I have it for breakfast most days or for a quick afternoon snack or added into a smoothie. In fact, I find myself coming up with excuses to have some!
I like the natural taste of this yogurt, but some may not, since we are so used to added sugar in many other yogurts. I am watching my carbohydrate intake closely, and like this yogurt because of the lower carb count. I take 2/3 cup and put 6 frozen strawberries (from my garden) in the container for my morning (breakfast) break at work. This yogurt seems more filling than others. It does have a tangy taste without added sweetener, but that is what yogurt is truly supposed to taste like. I plan to use it to make frozen yogurt in my Ninja machine in the near future.
While it is slightly more expensive I can say after trying a multitude of different greek yogurts that this has the most mild and not "sour milk" flavor of any plain yogurts I've ever tasted. I now mix my own unsweetened fruit peree or preserves into this with a tiny bit of stevia and some water to make a healthy snack with a normal "non-greek" style yogurt viscosity!
I eat yogurt everyday with frozen blueberries and was buying a good brand of Greek yogurt with mixed berries but started to look at the ingredients. I realized, although the good quality Greek yogurt I was purchasing had Live Active Yogurt Cultures, it only contained 2 cultures. I decided to get the most out of Greek yogurt I would need to go plain yogurt, which I'm not real thrilled over the taste of, but one that had more Live Active Yogurt Cultures and came across Fage Plain Greek Yogurt. I had seen it featured quite a few times on YouTube videos on eating healthier and when I read the ingredients and found that it had has 5 Live Cultures I decided to try it. I wasn't impressed with the flavor at all but learned to add a little sweetener or honey into it along with the frozen blueberries and I now love it and won't purchase any other brand.
We first heard about this yogurt from a family friend, who mentioned, “this is one of the healthiest yogurts you will find.” The texture is really thick and the taste is a little bit tart in my opinion but the benefits are really great since it's loaded with protein and zero sugar. I use it fruit smoothies, donuts that I make from scratch and my greek chicken.
In my opinion this is the best yogurt I've eaten. It's very thick %26 creamy but I can thin it with a splash of my unsweetened almond or coconut milk if I choose and it's not enough to change the flavor %26 since it's plain I can choose what flavor I want in it. Sometimes sweet %26 others savory, like making ranch dressing with it. It is a big plus for my Keto life, it has been an enjoyable staple and I eat it daily sometimes 2x a day.
I honestly do not like Yogurt but since I am trying to lose weight. I eat yogurt and fruit for breakfast. I have always sweetened it with fat free Jello pudding mix. I have always ordered the Great Value Brand which is good. Walmart had to substitute the Fage brand last time and I was a bit leery of trying a new Yogurt. I have to say that this is the thickest, best tasting yogurt I have ever eaten. If you can afford the price, Fage is the way to go. Requires no sweetener, no thickener, and has the best taste. If I could afford to, I would never ever by another brand.
This is a super tasty, creamy fat free yogurt. I make dip with it, yogurt cheese (Lebneh), and eat it with fruit and oatmeal or granola. I have fed it to people who would never choose fat free yogurt and they have enjoyed it too. Personally, I prefer the flavor of the fat free yogurt. Greek yogurt is regular yogurt that's had a lot of the whey strained out it. Most of the tartness is in the whey. Some brands use starches to thicken their Greek yogurt, Fage does not. I tried another brand that seemed like it was made from honey flavored yogurt so it wasn't good as a savory dip. This is just high quality and tasty.
I am on a high protein diet and I buy this Plain Greek Yogurt brand a few times per month. I usually buy a bunch at a time so I have them on hand. I like them for breakfast, addition to lunches or a quick pick me up snack. Always fresh, creamy and simply amazing. We order for delivery a lot and this always comes on time and still cold. Care is always taken with our deliveries. Thanks Walmart!!!
Many other brands attempt to produce Greek yogurt, but none of them match the taste, texture, or consistency of this brand. That is why I am willing to pay the extra price for this yogurt, because to me, it is worth the money based on its superior quality and texture, especially when eaten on its own or used as a base for a snack.
