Falcon Rods Coastal 7'6" Light Action Spinning Fishing Rod

It’ll be tough to beat this rod for the money. Sensitive enough to feel everything, but still has plenty of backbone to muscle any fish in. No unnecessary extra fighting against average sized trout so I’m sure it’ll be great for fighting bigger fish too.

The rod is great! Walmart shipping sucks! Most places you order rods from ship then in ridged tubes to protect the delicate guides and integrity of the rod, Walmart place's them in extremely flimsy long narrow box, needless to say when it arrived to me, the outside of the box looked like a freight train has trampled it!! I was very surprised the rod was still in one piece but several guides were bent 😡. $96 !! I could have sent it back but I was leaving on a fishing trip, and was already frustrated because it took 3 days longer to arrive then what was noted when ordering it, I since I didn't have the luxury of time I went with just bending them back. I could see on a couple of the guides where the epoxy had separated from the winding and rod, so just a matter of time till they fail😡😡. Thanks for nothing Walmart !

Excellent rod for the money

Rod feels amazing and has some amazing action however I was very disappointed when I got it and it had the rod tip broken off and also the fact it was shipped like this. I know falcon makes some amazing rods but it’s disappointing the level of care walmart took for my order and gave it to me broken. This review is more for the shipping aspect than the rod itself because otherwise it would be 5 stars

if this box had been dropped with the rod tip first, it would have been broken

Excellent rod!

I picked this rod up at my local Walmart in Tampa for about $100. It has served me very well so far in the year or so that I have used it for back country fishing. No rust anywhere, guides are sturdy and no inserts have fallen out, cork still looks good. I would say that in my experience the Medium action in this brand is more like Medium Light. This rod just feels well built and I wouldn't hesitate buying one again, although I would probably get a Medium Heavy next time to be able to cast heavier lures a little better.

Walmart did a very poor job packaging this rod for shipment. The one piece 7'6"rod was packaged in a flimsy cardboard box that was handmade. The 8' box arrived at my house as a 4' bundle and the rod was broken in two.

Good quality. Great lightweight fishing rod.
